i finally got my first roll of film developed (it’s technically my third but I messed up the other two 💀)

one thing I admire from attending the art shows is seeing work where artists combined different mediums within a collection, or even in one piece. it almost feels like ‘play’, that act of trying random techiques while creating, which I feel is so important to truly connecting with your process and making unique work

i think this type of ‘play’ is important in photography too, and that exploring different mediums is also possible in this practice (hence why I also love polaroids so much lol)

basically, even though these photos probably aren’t that good, I’m happy with them regardless because I’ve learned so much when taking them and getting them developed

thank you to @cnwjphotos for developing the photos and sharing so much info about the process and film in general! no one else really develops film in nassau rn so it was great

I realized I hadn’t posted any of my bad polaroids in a very long time, so this felt like the perfect time to update with a few from some of my concept work when I still was in ATL 🌃

As you can see, I am still learning the medium. Main lessons:
1. Keep your film in the fridge
2. This film is light hungry as heck
3. The film HATES the cold and will be as green as possible if it isn’t warm (guess I don’t need to worry about that one now ☀️)

Since the polaroids are vulnerable posts for me anyway, while I’m here I want to admit being creative has been hard lately! As you may have noticed, I haven’t been posting as many concept shoots for awhile, and that’s mainly because scheduling shoots has been a hassle between balancing a new job and trying to avoid the weather. Thanks for sticking with me, and thanks to everyone who always sends me encouragement. It keeps me pushing ⭐️🤞
