I have always found it a bit tricky celebrating me (ask anyone who knows me well 😬) but wanted to pop this one on the grid as it was very special to me for many reasons.

First, to be recognised by the @greenroomawards committee and our arts community for my work with @victorianopera on Follies was a very beautiful experience.

Next, because the creative process for this one was so layered for me, the research ran deep and not just physically.

Family ties: the shows rich history of theatre, and my own family’s history here in Melbourne. My mum was auditioned by Betty pounder at the Tivoli where she became a Tiv dancer!

Finally, as mentioned in my acceptance speech, to have met Director Stuart Maunder and Designer Roger Kirk 20 years ago, at the conception of my choreographic career via my life long mentor Ross Coleman, to be working alongside them on this production, using the tools he taught me about turning story into movement and movement into story, I know he would have been so proud.

Hugest yell out to my associate and friend @mitchell.fistrovicdoidge who spreads magic and laughter into every room he is in.

We were blessed with the most legendary cross generational cast on this and will always be grateful for Stuart and the Vic Opera for having me.

I hope to continue to create rooms & works that makes people feel something. Thanks for listening if you got this far. ☺️

Thinking back to my time in Grease the Musical honestly fills me with so much joy. It was one of those unforgettable chapters in my journey as a performer, filled with incredible memories and people who became like family.

One of the standout moments was being asked to perform at Daywash, an amazing gay event that celebrates freedom, love, and community. Finding this old clip brought back all the nostalgia and reminded me just how special that time was ❤️❤️❤️

Surprise Performance - the amazing and beautiful @joannemusik and incredible DJ @damianandres

I met Joanne back in 2003 and instantly fell in love! Her beauty, kindness, generosity and talent is like no other. Every weekend over a span of 8 years we would hang out, watch her absolutely annihilate gigs and bond.

2 years ago I had the idea of asking her to perform at my party and everything I dreamt of became a reality!!! When I text her last year, I knew immediately this was going to be something special. Massive shout out to @bradda and Ruby from @younghearts.melbourne for helping us bring this to life!

Joanne and Damian curated the most epic set list, and one of my requests Free Your Mind by En Vogue was absolutely stellar (slide 7)!! Let’s also not forget the La Bouche and Dr. Dre mix… 🧑‍🍳 😘
You both went above and beyond and I’m eternally grateful. Seeing everyone’s face when Joanne appeared was priceless!
