Finally Friday 9/11 🇺🇸. Not a lot to say about that tragic day except that with that tragedy came one of the most unified times I’ve ever seen in this country during my lifetime. People didn’t care about race, how much money you had, what religion you served, who you voted for…..it was strictly about the country coming together. I would love to see that unification on a daily basis as I think our country needs it tremendously. My Tampa Bay Bucs kickoff the season this weekend vs the Bengals and I’m too amped. We finally paid Baker Mayfield so let’s see if he can regain his swag he had early last year before injuries hit. Huge HS football game tonight for the city as Tville takes on the defending state champs from Worth County at home. It’s at home so I don’t have to worry about that damn cannon going off after a Worth County score. You can hear that thing all the way up in downtown Atlanta 🤣🤣. I expect a really good game tonight just like it’s been the last two seasons. As always, we are above ground on another Friday so let’s celebrate homies! It’s Finally Friday 🔴🔵⚾️🥎.

Finally Friday 9/4 is First Friday! Sloppy weather here in Tville today but it’s still Friday so the weekend is here. Hit the gym this morning and completely forgot my earbuds. Huge mistake as that might have been the toughest workout to get through in my life. You hear the bad gym playlist combined with the unnecessary grunting from the person working out on the machine next to you. Weight feels heavier. Just all bad so don’t make that mistake people. Special shoutout to Deuce Lawrence who scored his first career touchdown at Wake Forest last night. First of many my brother and congratulations to you and your family as I know they were excited. If you are in the Valdosta area be sure to go get a fried apple turnover from Ella’s Top Corral off South Patterson. Jeezus….I want one right now as I type. The other food was elite as well but that fried pie is top tier dessert making. I put it right up there with my Rice Krispie treats so those pies are elite company. My Canes kick off tonight on the West Coast so tune in at 9 PM if you are a night owl like me. As always, it is an absolute privilege to be above ground for another Friday so let’s celebrate homies. It’s Finally Friday! 🔴🔵⚾️🥎

Finally Friday 8/28 is the last Friday of the month with prob the most unpredictable weather I’ve seen in a long time in August. Lightning delays, monsoon rains, and crazy heat indexes have pretty much summed up the entire month. This Sunday will be five years since DK Legend Coach Brian Kelley passed away from Covid-19. We miss you my guy and I will always remember how funny you were. Quiet but funny as hell🤣🤣. Rest easy my brother. I’ve been trying to eat a little better lately but that rice krispy treat at Chicken Salad Chick has me in a chokehold. It is RIDICULOUS!! Almost scared to eat lunch at Barbs because the car just magically ends up leaving Barbs and going right across the street for one of those bad boys. Check them out and you won’t regret it. College football kicks off this week so I’m sure many will be glued to their TV sets this wkend. I absolutely love My Canes chances this season. In Mario We Trust 🙌🏾. As always, we are above ground for another Friday so let’s celebrate homies. It’s Finally Friday! 🔴🔵🥎⚾️

Friday 8/14 is a busy one! This week the oldest of my rugrats had a birthday yesterday turning the big 2️⃣4️⃣. Happy Birthday 9️⃣9️⃣ and I’m super proud of you my guy. About time for that AARP card my boi 🤣🤣. Special shoutouts to DK Alumni celebrating birthdays this week as it was a huge birthday week. Including Evan Kelley (8th), Mason Wilson (9th), Dylan Taylor (10th), Branson Gates (12th), Dylan Jacobs, Jay Harrison, and Owen Simmons (All 3 on the 15th). Happy Birthday gentlemen and much love to each of you young bulls. The baby of the bunch has her first dance line football scrimmage tonight so I’m excited to see the hard work she’s put in. For a Dance Dad the halftime show IS game time 💃🏽💃🏽. I’ve already started hydrating cause I know that bear 🌞 will be in full effect 🥵🥵. Speaking of football, I had a monumental Dad moment last night as I was watching an episode of “Quarterback” on Netflix. The girls overheard Joe Flacco calling a play in the huddle and they asked what does all that even mean. 💡💡💡. I’ve been waiting to show off this football terminology for years as Jaylen learned years ago about Dad’s passion for football and film study. So I took the calendar white board in our kitchen and drew up an old high school play to explain what each part of the play call meant. So after explaining the play “Rip Open Gun, Black, Zack, 595 A Vertical” and the reads and progressions vs Cover 3 and Cover 2, I’m sure they feel like they are overly prepared for the upcoming football season 🤣. As always we are above ground for another Friday so let’s party for my guy 99 this wkend (Be safe and I have your location bruh 👀). It’s Finally Friday homies! 🔴🔵⚾️🥎

Finally Friday 8/7!! We have officially survived the first week back to school! Bravo parents. The young bulls are going to have a heavy workload balancing school, dance, and softball but heavy is the head that wears the crown. Especially AP Government (Jeezus 🤦🏽‍♂️). Big News for your boy as I found out for the first time in history I’ve had a pet named after me as Coach JJ the Puppy is our cover photo this week. I’m super honored and can’t wait to meet the little guy owned by the McGowens. Busy weekend of baseball for me this week with practice and tryouts and leg day was absolutely atrocious today at the gym. Hamstrings are on fire but I’m trying to avoid BBL surgery that some of these cats are getting out of the country. I’m getting mine the old fashion way with leg curls, RDLs, and glute bridges. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. As always, it’s a blessing to be above ground for another Friday so let’s celebrate. It’s Finally Friday homies! 🔴🔵⚾️🥎

Finally Friday 7/31 is the last Friday of July! The summer has absolutely flown by and school is back on the horizon. Softball is back in Georgia and it’s going to be so hot the first month of the season that your eyeballs will start sweating. Ask me how I know ? 🤦🏽‍♂️🔥🔥. For you baseball fans….be sure to put Camden Yards in Baltimore on your bucket list. It is the dopest MLB stadium I’ve been to as I was able to hit that one and Nationals Park (D.C) in the same weekend. Will definitely be back. This wkend is also all about Spider-Man as the new movie comes out. I can not wait!!!! The Spider-Man series hits every single time so I do not plan on that changing with the new installment. Baseball, Softball, Dance, Repeat is on deck from now until December for your boy so it’s time to buckle up! As always, we are above ground for another Friday so let’s celebrate homies. It’s Finally Friday! 🔴🔵⚾️🥎

Finally Friday 7/17!! This Friday is all about the baby girl Jayde who celebrates her diabetic anniversary today as it’s been two years since was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic. This is a huge deal for the Type 1 community so I had to give my baby girl a shoutout today. It was super scary as a parent when she was first diagnosed but she has handled it with so much maturity. I am very proud of you pookie tookie and I know your Mom is as well ❤️. Special shoutout this week to Scoot Peterson and Jonathan Jarvis who celebrated birthdays yesterday. Happy Birthday young bulls!! Parents the summer is about to wind down. I went school shopping last wkend and I’ll just say I’m going to pray for yall who haven’t started cause 🤦🏽‍♂️. It’s too hot for prices to be this high. Getting an instant attitude as soon as you swipe or tap the debit card. Watch how you talk to these parents the next few weeks cause they are going through it. 🤣🤣. As always we are above ground for another Friday so that’s cause for celebration homies. It’s Finally Friday!!

Finally Friday 7/10! Finallllllly Friday INDEED cause it’s been a week. From Dentist appointments to making terrible decisions in the gym (lower back wasn’t having it!), to completely botching up what actual day it was. Not one of my better weeks but complaining will do absolutely nothing so we keep it pushing as always! Summer break is almost over already. Time absolutely flies. My youngest will be an 8th grader this year which seems unreal. I was at the Lab the other day and one of my guys left his wallet and stopped back by to grab it. He waves bye and proceeds to get in the driver seat of his mom’s whip and drives off. I’m thinking WTH at first because ain’t no way he should be driving on the streets of Thomasville. Then I do the old count back that the old heads use to do on their fingers and I mentally finish counting and realize he’s 15 years old now. 15!!! Like no way he’s that old!! The babies I use to coach are now young men and women that will be leaving the nest soon. I refuse to believe it for now but I know it is coming and I’m totally not ready 😭😭😭😭. As always we are above ground for another Friday so let’s celebrate getting older and wiser homies! It’s Finally Friday 🔴🔵⚾️🥎

Finally Friday July 3rd is huge for the birthdays this weekend. Shoutout to my “Little Big” cousin Mahogany James who turned “21” again last week 🤣. I’m her “Big Little” cousin and she’s my much shorter Big Cousin hence the nicknames. Shoutout to two of DKSA Alumni’s best catchers in Nathan Smith and Brayden Hodges who celebrate birthdays this wkend. Nate’s big day is today and Brayden’s is Sunday. Happy Birthday to both of you Legends! Happy Birthday to DK Member Judah Sampson who celebrates his Cake Day today. Hope you have an awesome birthday Judah! Last but not least I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my girlfriend Rhonda who turns “25” again today. I know that NO ONE (in my Alicia Keys voice) celebrates their birthday bigger than this woman so I know I had to give her a Finally Friday shoutout. Happy Birthday babe and I hope it is a special one!! I know it’s a holiday wkend so I won’t hold yall but please be safe this wkend and be sure to let your eldest Unc light the fireworks this wkend. Their fingers are a little more seasoned to a little heat from the sparks than you young bucks 🤣🤣. As always, we are above ground for another Friday so let’s celebrate in grand fashion homies. It’s Finally Friday! 🔴🔵⚾️🥎

Finally Friday June 19th!! Today is all about Juneteenth and Father’s Day this weekend! Juneteenth is huge for the black community as it commorates the day enslaved African Americans were finally informed of their freedom 2 and 1/2 years after the emancipation proclamation was signed. It has finally become a national holiday as it was long overdue! Special shoutout to the Knicks on winning their first title since 1973!!! The critics can finally stop saying you can’t win a title with your superstar player being under 6’3” as Jalen Brunson has certainly proven that! Want to throw a Birthday shoutout to possibly the coolest dude on the face of the Earth…my nephew Bryce Metcalf who celebrated his birthday last wkend after Finally Friday was released. Happy Cake Day Neph! Also want to wish The Cole Connell a Happy 12th Birthday as he celebrates tomorrow! Happy Birthday Cole-Man! Last but not least I want to give a shoutout to all of the Dads out there as it is officially our wkend. Take some time and soak it all in fellas…..and then go fire up the grill and cook your own steaks this wkend 🤣🤣🤣🤣. But seriously guys enjoy your wkend and salute to you all for the job that you do. 💪🏾. As always we are above ground for another Friday so it’s always cause for celebration homies. It’s Finally Friday 🔴🔵⚾️🥎.

Finally Friday 6/12 is coming to you from Gulf Shores, Alabama where our 11’s are playing in the PG World Series this week. Got duped into paying $30 for a parking pass where not one soul checked for it all week 🤦🏽‍♂️. And charging $85 to watch your kid play for four days should be against the law. Maybe I should have gotten a marketing degree instead of an accounting one and I might have thought of this idea myself. 🤣. I think the New York Knicks close it out in Game 5 over the Spurs. Just don’t see the Spurs coming back after blowing a 29 point lead in Game 4 but anything can happen when you’ve got Wemby on your roster. The College World Series opens up today and it’s going to be a good one. Excited to see who can make a run but is always going to come down to the arms. Deep bullpens and quality starts seem to always determine the ship every year and of course a timely hit or two 😉. As always we are above ground on another Friday so that is a cause for celebration!! It’s Finally Friday..have a great weekend homies! 🔴🔵⚾️🥎

Finally Friday May 29th is the last Friday of the month. Huge weekend of softball and baseball as the College World Series kicks off in OKC and the baseball regionals are all over the country. Must see TV! I think this might be the best year ever for the two big boy schools in the state of Georgia. Tech and UGA both have legit shots at winning the whole thing and I haven’t been able to say that in a long time. Special shoutout this week to the baby girl Jayde and my niece Taylor who both killed it at their Spring Dance Recital last night at Chiles High School. Outstanding job ladies! Another huge shoutout to my dawg Ebonee Monique who dropped her new book “Survived By”. I just got my copy in the mail and can’t wait to read that New York Times Best Seller. Congrats to you E as I know you have worked your ssa off to make this happen. Good luck to my dude Everett Fiore as he heads to Cooperstown this week. Go represent E-Money and I know Mama Fiore has some hellacious site seeing planned! It’s Friday and we are above ground so that is always cause for celebration homies! It’s Finally Friday my people! 🔴🔵⚾️🥎
