Georgia’s Sack Kings. 👑💥

Three defenders of 2025-2026 year. Three different programs. One thing in common — getting to the quarterback.

🥇 Mylik Benoit | Midtown — 24.0 Sacks
🥈 Tavarre Terrell | Creekside — 20.5 Sacks
🥉 Jeffrey McCormick | Calvary Day — 19.0 Sacks

63.5 combined sacks during the 2025 season. 😤

Pressure changes games, and these three brought plenty of it.

Who’s taking the sack crown in 2026? 👀🏈

What a way to kick off the high school football season!

Glynn Academy came out firing tonight, jumping out to a 22-7 lead and looking firmly in control. But the boys of @calvaryday_athletics @calvarydayfootball responded in a BIG way, scoring 42 unanswered points to come back and win 49-22!

I’ll admit, I’m a little biased. I know several of these Calvary players and had the opportunity to watch them throughout last season, including their run to the state championship game in Atlanta. So yeah, I was pulling for the Cavs tonight…

But I also want to give credit to Glynn Academy. Those young men came out ready to play, and that first half was a battle. That’s what makes high school football in Georgia so much fun to watch, talented young athletes competing, communities showing up for them, and lessons being learned that go far beyond the scoreboard. And even when the game wasn’t going Glynn Academy’s way, their student section, cheerleaders, and band were living it up!

Congratulations to both programs on opening the season, and congratulations to the Cavs on one heck of a comeback!

42 unanswered. 49-22. What a night.

Kill the day! 💯🔥🇺🇸
