MEETING THE ARTISTS 💫

We loved hosting our first Artists’ Talk in the gallery on the final day of our inaugural group exhibition ‘A Day at the Seaside’!

With guest curator and exhibiting artist Eileen Cooper RA, alongside exhibiting artists Ruth Dupre, Gavin Lockheart, R&F Mo, Archie Franks and Alice Macdonald.

Huge thanks to everyone who turned up to support us at our first daytime event and much gratitude to the artists for telling us about their work.

𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗣 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗢: Thank you so much Hughie O’Donoghue RA for a fantastic seminar at TEASP on Friday, it was a chance to reconnect after the EADY (Artist Development Year) at ESOP, reflect on our practices, and share recent work. Hughie spoke about his latest work in Wicklow, offering insights into his process and projects. It was inspiring to hear about his approach and to have open conversations about our own work, challenges, and directions since completing EADY.

Seeing everyone’s work, whether in the studio or through digital presentations, made for a fantastic day. Very grateful for the insights and generosity in the room.

Advanced Painting Graduation Show
The Essential School of Painting, Wood Green
Opening Early July 2025

Facade is the final graduation show by the Advanced Painting artists at The Essential School of Painting. This year’s exhibition showcases work by six emerging artists, exploring the theme of surface, identity, and what lies beneath the visible.

Some serious painting moves happening from @joclaremartin and @gail_corrie on TheESOP 2year Advanced Painting course led by Dan Coombs. Swipe left Gail Corrie with tutor Neil Gall. There is an incredible line up of tutors at ESOP, on this course we have in the core team Neil, Kathryn Maple, Dale Lewis and Vicky Wright. The week before our guest tutor was Hughie O’Donaghue RA.
