Throwback to Bear Week last summer 🐻 — just chilling at the boatslip pool when a photographer spotted us in a sea of bears… and asked us to pose and make out for some shots. 😉 📸 photo credit from ptown gay travel guide @attitudemag

Last weekend at Leather Mart reminded me what family really means—being around chosen family and friends who show up, and a community that always has your back. 🖤

I’m so grateful for everyone in my world—family members, camp friends, and all the amazing people who step in and help me do what I do when I’m running on empty. Special shout-outs to @_john.aaron and @garrett_a_t and @evanin0 for helping me vend, lifting me up, and making these moments possible. Your support, time, and energy mean everything especially in a world where we have to defend our existence. Thanks to everyone in the community for keeping us safe, seen, and celebrated.

I feel like all I talk about these days is my work at Beacon’s Backyard (support the free breakfast program!), Juneteenth, my work at the library, and how tired I am. I fail to convey how much joy is centered in my day today, the adventures I find myself on, and the live that I’m surrounded by.

May started off with a full week of my college roomie/bestie visiting my home and getting to see my world, and just continued to fill with movies, game nights, pool parties, house warmings, improv, book launches, burlesque shows, dinners and workouts and photoshoots with friends.

I’m grateful for the time I get to spend with my community and I regret not taking more pictures! These moments with you are everything ✨💛

I have no idea how I’ve managed to squeeze in time for all the game nights, concerts, fitness classes, city adventures, hikes, books, and casual hangs, but my friends have been sustaining me. I might commit to one or two too many things, but the joy in the in-between just makes everything else better.

In theory, I would like to lean into nature and hibernate during winter. Despite having a fever and being out of commission for nearly a week, there was never a dull moment in January. The year started off with a musical kick seeing @deathbecomesher on Broadway and @alvinailey the very next day. I spent a lot more time in the city than I anticipated, had more game nights than my heart could’ve hoped for, and connected with friends that have filled my heart with nothing but joy. Between working full time and helping to launch @beaconsbackyard kitchen’s free breakfast program, moments of free time have been far and few. Yet, my friends and community have found me, supported me, and held me every single day.

I’m going to post a lot more about Beacon’s Backyard very soon. I’m really looking forward to spending more time with friends, building community, and more gym time and game nights 💛
