I've been putting off making this post (for good reason)
Showchoir has been one of the constants in my life and it has been really hard coming to terms with the fact I wont be doing it all again for another season. Looking back through all of my photos from over the years it makes me happy to know that I have had something consistent throughout the most important years of my youth. It makes me happy to know that this one thing has brought me so many amazing people and experiences and opportunities. It makes me happy to know that I have found so much joy in performing and I have gotten to perform with people that I love. There are things that I will and won't miss about showchoir, but I would never in a million years regret my decision in joining. To the friends and acquaintances I'm leaving behind, just know that I am so thankful for all of the amazing memories that we've made together and know that I love you all. I am unsure of what college will bring for me, but I know that I'm excited and ready to face it.

About a year ago my dad lost his job as part of the layoffs at PFW. This unexpected firing led to a huge change of plans in my life causing me to cancel my initial plans of going off to IU Indy for an English degree and instead doing a gap year. While I was excited to have time to relax one of my biggest fears came from the last times I was disconnected from school with Covid and my back surgery. I was scared I would be alone, and forgotten about again.

That could not have been farther from what happened. Even with this year's ups and downs this was by far one of the most amazing years of my life. I grew more confident in myself, got to pursue theatre even more and got to spend time with so many amazing friends. Coming to show choir performances or to theatre shows, working crew for my first ever show with Falsettos, going to movies and getting to go to my first ever high school prom. Everyone made sure to know that I was seen, I was heard, I was included. From the little hugs to the massive hangouts, I couldn't have felt more connected.

I want to make this post to say thank you. Thank you to the amazing people who made this year so special, for the opportunities it provided me to grow as a person, and to theatre for being my safest home away from home I could have ever dreamed of. I love you all so much and thank you.
