First encounter with Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, although have been aware of its existence for years. Booked to see it because Gillian Anderson is in it, and she's pretty awesome. Also starring Billy Crudup, whose name I know but who I couldn't quite place, and two other actors, Josh Dylan and Phoebe Horn. That's it, 4 people. In a THREE AND A HALF HOUR (including 20 minute interval) play. Went in pretty blind, and was blown away by the performers. All 4 of them were superb, the time flew by, I stayed awake (even though it didn't finish until almost 10:30pm 💪🏻), it was funny, tense, anxiety inducing.... Sooo wordy, I've no idea how the actors are able to remember it all. Huge long ranting soliloquies, spoken so fast, and feeling hugely authentic. Tell you what though, if I'd been Nick or Honey I'd have been out of there within 10 minutes of arriving 😂. My first time at Soho Place too, great theatre, will definitely be going there again (but hopefully on a day without tube issues). Now excuse me while I spend all day falling asleep on the sofa.....

Oh, also huge shoutout to Gillian's ability to walk in quite significant heels for 3 hours. 👠
