POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

5:17. 20 nights, 20 volunteers. 105 hours and 40 minutes of performed phone scrolling for an audience of 100,000+ passing vehicles and sundry pedestrians on Hyperion Avenue.

Many thanks to the volunteer scrollers, everyone who tuned into the live stream, stopped by the windows, attended the musical performance and/or closing reception. Footage from all 20 sessions will be combined into a real-time 105+ hour film. We will announce when and how the film can be seen. Stay tuned for that and future project announcements.

A teaser of the footage, a data slideshow, and a list of resources on the subject of phone usage, can be found on our website: www.fiveseventeen.art (link in bio).

September Roundup Part 1:

This was a jam-packed month full of events and emotional roller coasters 🎢😅. It was a month of rejection and change. Thankful for my tribe that helped get me through:

- Pics 1-5: Candidates Night for the WGA Board. So appreciative of all the support that night, especially @joelle_garfinkel - so proud of us!

- Quarterly Writers Group Brunch - It was so nice to see everyone. *We’re missing some peeps.*

- Pics 7-9: WB Captains Reunion - I got to hang with some of the WB Strike Captains. This group of awesome folks will forever have my heart.

-Humanitas Prize Awards Show and Toast with @blackboywritesmedia

Looking forward to more momentum and hearing a lot more of “yes” in October.

LFG, AMPTP! Hey, Armpit, maybe SAG-AFTRA will counter y’all with an offer to use your property after you die so your progeny can’t profit off of the fruits of your lifelong labor. Or maybe just a fair deal? Here’s a theme song that’s perfect for ya🧊!!

✍🏽 I HAVE NO WORDS… ✍🏽

…this ACTOR needs words,” is what my sign read once I settled into the picket line with the #WGAStrike in May.

It has been an honor to have stood in solidarity and learn from you all these last 146 days, to be part of this change, and this movement in history. Your resilience, belief, blood, sweat, and tears won this hard fought battle.

Not going to lie, as I was sending a note to @_jtallen tonight, I expressed my gratitude for his kindness and wisdom, sharing that he was one of the captains who inspired me to captain for @sagaftra when the call came to serve. It’s actually the whole WB WGA captain team @chandrathomas @sleepingbeautie @danicecabanela - SEE what YOU ALL DID!

I have had the privilege of meeting so many writers, to hear their stories…but these are the faces I’m going miss on the line as we, @sagaftra , ride your win and fight to our own finish line.

This is my love & appreciation post to you all & the #WGA . May our creative paths continue to cross and together our stories take flight. UNITED WE F*CKIN WIN!

✍🏽 Linda & Leizel friends to slay forever

✍🏽 From Palm Springs to the picket line, it’s been an privilege @thefawz

✍🏽 Learned so much from Matt and finally seeing @brchun IRL…sigh, I was hoping to work with you both on @doogiekamealohamd - how dare #Disney cancel the show!

✍🏽 Your who vibe, dancing, and jams were everything @neilmcneil

✍🏽 My fave 🫡 captain 🫡 of all time (shhhh don’t tell anyone) & love @danicecabanela

✍🏽 Thank you for all your writing brilance and all your suppoet @dledouxm

✍🏽 We’ve picketed, we’ve done a supply drive, you’re a BEAST when it comes to ohana & serving, grateful to know you @lauhalalana

✍🏽 Megan your kindness and meeting you on the ranch when you were solo, was a gift that keeps on giving!

✍🏽 J.T. + @chandrathomas - probably the hardest working captains on the line 🫡🫡🫡

✍🏽 @hjengab + @purplebjenga the power sisters taking the line by storm.

Grateful for all the of you and the impact you have made on me and so many. 🤜🏽💥🤛🏽.

Scenes from a celebration last night 🥹❤️.

This wouldn’t be possible without our negotiating committee, WGA leadership, my fellow captains, lot coordinators, SAGAFTRA, Pre-WGA, Teamsters, IATSE, local businesses, fans, and anyone else who supported us the past 5 months.

The fight isn’t over! Let’s continue to hit the picket lines to support our @sagaftra family.
