3 years, it has been just over 3 years since I started at 1st Phorm but I haven’t quite known what to say about my experience.

Working in customer service allows me to do fulfilling work.

Superficial is not a space I live in.

I’ve always thought about the fact that my primary goal is to help people. A part of that is to allow people to exist in the space which I give them because that is what I’ve always wanted for me. What I have never thought about until now is the fact that when I open the door and I allow for that space and people choose to step through it. They are allowing me to exist, as I am and accept me for who I am. It is a reciprocated vulnerability that is rare. A connection that not everyone will feel at this depth. Which I will forever be grateful for because after all, that is what we all want. To be validated, to truly be ourselves and to be given the space to exist as we are.

When you find those people they are rare gems.

Soak it in and appreciate it.

To all of you who have been vulnerable with me I appreciate you more than you will ever know. You have allowed me to genuinely exist as I am and in this world that isn’t something I take lightly.

It still gets me emotional reflecting back on journey.

May 2021: 115lbs
March: 137lbs

2020/2021 was probably the hardest season in my life.

Seeing the girl in those photos I remember what those days felt like. I remember fighting to just show up everyday because navigating life after loss is hard. I had to let go of the life I thought I was going to have to & I had to rebuild a new one.

Most people ask how I did it.

My answer is always the same, “I didn’t have a choice.”

Because if I gave up on myself I knew I would lose everything. So I turned to what kept me going. I poured into myself, my health, & the things/the people that made me happy.

Truthfully, it’s been the hardest most rewarding journey I could ever imagine. I would not be the person I am today without everything that lead up to this point.

I learned to look as every obstacle as an opportunity to get stronger and show myself what I am really capable of.

So if you’re feeling defeated, keep showing up.

You’ll be so proud of yourself when you can look back & say, “I made it through everything that was meant to break me & I never gave up.”

Do it for something bigger than yourself 🖤

If you have lost someone in your life to you understand that holidays, birthdays, & anniversaries can bring up a lot of difficult feelings.

I’ll be honest this time of year is hard for me.

But everyday when these feelings come up I remind myself that I was given this path for a reason.

I was fortunate to overcome my addiction & I’m going to continue to live & share my story to give others hope.

Today marks 5 years & 4 months of my recovery.

This day next month will also mark the 3 year anniversary of losing someone I loved to their addiction.

It doesn’t get easier, but you do get stronger.

You just have to keep showing up.

One day at a time.

We do recover. 🙏
