Starting off my new series by highlighting my curly stylist @_kathaleana 💇🏽‍♀️

With learning and loving my curls, I like to take care of them as best I can since I grew up neglecting them 🥲

I’m sure younger Kristine would be so proud of the curl girl I’ve become today 🥹

Back to the professional! 😂❤️

This is the stylist who taught me how to properly care for and style my daughter’s hair. I’ve been practicing ever since, but today I happily handed the job back to the expert.

I think the results speak for themselves! ✨

If you’ve been following my Girl Dad hair adventures, go show @_kathaleana some love!

When I attended The Blend Club in February, I knew there was something special about this community. The education was unmatched, but it was only a taste of what CIRL Education would be like. 🥹

I’m so grateful to every educator who poured into us and shared their expertise. What I loved most was that each educator brought their own techniques, experiences, and perspectives to the room. They weren’t exactly the same as the person before them—and that was the beauty of it.

There was no message of “my way is the only right way.” Instead, we were reminded that there is beauty in each person’s technique and perspective, and collectively, those differences make us a stronger community.

Being able to sit under the education of so many different people I genuinely love and respect in this industry was such a gift. I left with new techniques, new perspectives, and even more appreciation for this community. 🫶🏽

And let me tell you… my girl @thesavvytouch knows how to put together a PARTY! 😂👏🏽

We got education. We got community. And we had a GOOD time.

My cup is full. 🥹🧡

Curls In Real Life ➰ CIRL photo dump

Still processing the weekend but whewww chileee… being in a room full of people who really KNOW and love curly hair was inexplainable. 🥹

Learning, laughing, yapping, crying, dancing and meeting internet friends IRL…my cup is full.

Also my brain has approx 472 new ideas now, so there’s that.

Very glad I made the trip! Until next year… 🫶🏾

Finished up our season down in Orlando at AAU Nationals. Some tough close losses against some of the best teams in the country. From a small, local team, to getting on the adidas jr3ssb circuit under the @washwarriorsbball and national stage, we couldn’t be more proud of the boys. A lot of hard work and dedication by not only the kids, but the parents as well. There’s levels to this, and we have to keep working to get better and get to that level. We proved that we belong, now we work to achieve even more. “Work to be perfect, knowing you’ll never be perfect”. #ballin #dmvbasketball #hardwork

My son was born with a head FULL of Rico Suave hair.
And I had NO IDEA what to do with it.

When we found out I was having a boy,
both my mom and my sister -
mamas to two girls each -
exclaimed, "You won't have to deal with HAIR!"

Ohhhhhhhhh but I did.

By the time my son was 1,
he had his own diffuser,
satin pillowcases and sheets,
a basket OVERFLOWING with detanglers, moisturizers, and curl creams,
and 2+ hours of my undivided attention EVERY SUNDAY.

Yet he'd wake up EVERY Monday, looking like an adorable Don King. 🙄

So, at 2, we cut his hair off. And 3 years later, I'm still wishing we hadn’t.
