The surrealistic 1947 drama BLACK NARCISSUS is this week’s #ReRunSunday review! Directed by the powerhouse British filmmaker team of Powell and Pressburger, BLACK NARCISSUS tells the tale of nuns (led by the beautiful, conflicted Deborah Kerr) who do their very best to serve a local community high in the Himalayas, but are soon caught up in the dangers of the area, as well as their emotions and fears that threaten their existence. One of the most favorite films of our host, Professor Cesare, BLACK NARCISSUS is a multi-layered exercise in love, hate, insanity, survival, and death. Armed with great performances by its cast and a fantastic visual production, BLACK NARCISSUS is a brilliant attack on the senses that serious film lovers must not miss! More than just cute, THE RED BALLOON is a touching tale of friendship and resilience amongst childhood. Life Begins (2025) Short Film Original Score New York Premiere Screening (2026) // Pre-production 1 week, post-production 1 week. They edited as they shot, I scored as they edited. Pulled way too many all-nighters in one week, but without this intense experience, I never knew I could compose, arrange, orchestrate, record, program, and mix all the music pieces within such an incredibly limited time. Human adrenaline is badass :)) The entire crew is also badass as hell, super grateful to be working with all these seriously talented people . . .
