WRAP ON SEASON 1 of @saylessimprov

A year ago I got a call from my brother @_bhughes to be the Director of photography (DP) for a live improv game show. Not only was I excited for the opportunity I was beyond appreciative that he trusted me with his vision. I had recently just had someone underestimate me and my skills at the time and there is no better way to prove something wrong than to show proof of life.

Our first show went amazing, great crowd and it even doubled as our film “You Thought” premiere. Our team took notes on what worked and what didn’t and moved forward to the next episode. We had a rhythm going and what happened next would honestly be the end of most stories but we found a way to prevail.

The venue that we got so used to was no longer available but instead of accepting defeat we improvised…literally lol. We found any venue available to film and our team adapted as needed per environment.

Then in June this year B called me with great news about a venue that would fulfill all our needs. We did a pre production tour to get a lay of the land then returned some weeks later to shoot our first episode there on a real soundstage. No more renting chairs..they have chairs, no more placing our own TVs..they have wall made of nano panels.

The show went amazing and we now have a 3 yr deal with @you42studios to continue our journey and create more amazing content. Shoutout to all of MADEVISION for believing in the Fro 🙏🏾. See y’all next year for season 2!
