dear cheerleading, the sport that taught me so much more than walking on a mat and cheering on teammates. cheerleading means the absolute world to me, if you know who i am, you know what i am always either talking about cheer or finding a way to bring it into my conversations. competitive cheer has been a significant influence on who i am today as a person, and who i will continue to be. cheerleading has taught me patience, to work hard, to keep a smile when things get rough, to always keep pushing yourself past your limits, and most of all, how to be a good athlete and teammate. i left everything i had left in my soul on that mat this morning, however, my team didn’t make it to finals. this year of cheer has not been in my favor, however, i wouldn’t trade anything for the world. i met so many good people through cheerleading, i will forever miss the feeling of being on that mat, and i will never stop pushing myself past mg limits. my coaches and teammates are the most amazing group of people that i’ve met over the 12 years of cheerleading. i cannot thank anyone who has ever supported me over the years enough. this is the end of an era that i never wanted to close.
disclaimer, i know the last picture is not a competitive cheer picture, but my grampy would be so proud of me, and this era closing. i miss you grampy, i pray im making you proud.
