PROJECT “WHY”
DAY 266/365

Thank you for your time @_kim.mtz_

Gym anxiety is not uncommon, but you’re absolutely right! People are too focused on themselves to care that much about you. Like I said if they are judging you, it says more about them than it does you!

🗣️🗣️🗣️

This year challenged me a lot. It pushed me creatively, challenged my patience, and strained my mental and physical health to its limit. There were many tears and difficult times for me, but I wouldn’t change any of it.

Though there were many hard times, there were also many good and fun times. Like being able to see my dancers grow. Some of them came into this team with little to no dance experience and I am incredibly proud and honored to have seen not only their skills improve, but also their drive and passion to do great. This applies to the entirety of FSA as well. I have seen some of you go from shy and quiet to open and absolutely flourish in this environment.

To my dancers, thank you for 1. auditioning and 2. being awesome. It was a tough year, but you guys pulled through and I admire each and everyone of you for that. #Balisayforlife

To my committee, I love you. Thank you for sticking by my side even as tears ran down my face. Thank you for helping me lead this team and loving it as much as I do. You guys have become my best friends and I can’t imagine doing this without y’all.

To my board, I’m honored to have been able to lead this org with you all. Your hard work and dedication to building this community never went unnoticed, I hope you know that.

FSA brought dance back into my life and I will forever be thankful to this org for that. Thank you for helping me find my community and grow it. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Till next time,

Your Modern Director

January Polaroids!! [Big Bend National Park + NYE]

I had a blast with some pals of mine at Big Bend earlier in the month and got some cool pictures out of it too! :] The rock enthusiast in me had a very swag time… :p the Rio Grande was such a sight!!

I’m going to assume that my New Year’s photos turned out green(??) due to it being nighttime, which I found interesting. Either way, I really like how some of them turned out :) The “Going down?” turned out better than I was expecting, big fan.

And to end off the “dump”… I got to see my good friend Alec the day after my birthday!! :D Went to eat some pho and had a pleasant lunch :] Good luck in the military man! (Which I’m assuming you’re already at :P)
