KIMOJI IS BACK

Last October, Kimoji was invited as part of the Rainbow Disco Club takeover at the Obs, playing the Terrace and absolutely blowing our minds.

Now he’s back in Saigon.

This time, he’s taking over the Club Room all night long.

Born in Bandung and now based in Melbourne, Kimoji is a DJ, producer and the founder of Terribly Measured, a platform spotlighting emerging producers from Asia and beyond.

His sound moves through disco, house and leftfield territory, shaped by years of digging and a very particular sense of where a dancefloor can go.

Good grooves.
Unexpected turns.
Just the right amount of strange.
And seriously good music.

Five hours to take his time with it.

FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER
KIMOJI — ALL NIGHT LONG

Club Room
00:00–05:00

One room. One DJ.
See you inside.

THIS WEEK AT THE OBS

September is moving quickly, and soon we’ll be entering our final month in this home we’ve called The Observatory for the last eight years.

So if you’ve been meaning to come by, see your friends, hear your favourite local DJs, or finally make it to that party you keep talking about — now is a pretty good time.

Thursday starts things off with BeA and DJ-Örk on the Terrace, while BongBongQuayQuay takes over the Club Room. A familiar Thursday, with familiar faces, and one more night to wander between inside and out.

Then Friday, Kimoji is back.

The last time he was here was for the Rainbow Disco Club takeover in 2025, where he took over the Terrace and absolutely blew the roof off. This time he’s going deeper, taking over the Club Room all night long.

Born in Bandung and now based in Melbourne, Kimoji is a DJ, producer and founder of Terribly Measured, a label spotlighting emerging producers from Asia and beyond. His sets move between disco, house and leftfield sounds, with years of digging and dancefloor experience behind every track.

One room. One DJ. all night long.

Out on the Terrace, Staraphoria — the Saigon duo and true OGs of the scene — return for their last time at the Obs, alongside MLiR, who is back in HCMC for a special Terrace set.

Saturday brings something new to the Obs as 29th Floor Radio makes their first appearance as a promoter here, joining forces with V Í A for TRUNG THU – CHUNG KHU. An HCMC-born community radio project built around documenting and sharing the city’s underground electronic music scene, they’re bringing their world into ours for a special night across both rooms.

And then Sunday, we keep it simple. Mandy G and Yasmin on the Terrace for another LAST CHANCE TO DANCE.

We’re getting closer now, but there are still plenty of nights to enjoy together.

See you at the Obs.
