2 days out till the big night, our 2nd last selector spotlight sees the introduction of one of our own, Kins; one with a curious ear & sets which pull from years of digging & playful experimentation, rather than any fixed formula,

house and disco formed the initial thread early on, but confining him solely to those genres has proven time & time again to be a grave mistake, trust us, we’ve seen it first-hand,

the co-founder of @nagahouse & programmer of its music arm, @_kinsssss has helped to shine a light on a variety of selectors and sounds from across our asian continent

19th september, this was bound to happen, wasn’t it? how rude of us, to be a part of ann siang & not throw a party? very rude. how rude of us, to not invite our musically talented friends in to bend some minds, break some legs and put some smiles on your faces? very rude. let us correct that real quick.

we’re stretching out 7 hours long, across both @arkive___store and @thecoup.sg for good music galore, and we’d love to have you there with us.

Suffyan (@s_____ffyan) and Kins (@_kinsssss) are on warm-up duties for @revisionmusicsg’s RTJ (@sideo), your headliner for chapter I. a dear friend who’s also been a longtime fixture of singapore’s music community with years spent moving between dancefloors and record digs - his selections pull from dub, soul, jazz, broken beat, bass and electronica, connecting sounds from across southeast asia and beyond together.

HZQ (@_hzqq_) gets the night downstairs moving first across breaks, jungle, uk bassline and whatever he conjures up in his early hours at @thecoup.sg. this slot’s bound to let him explore building a room, track by track. next up, @revisionmusicsg’s one and only Helios XL (@nezsenja), if you’re not already entertained. smooth as it comes between jungle, breakbeat, bass, leftfield techno and anything that catches his ears - his approach has always been about quality music first. when you thought things couldn’t get any better, in steps @strangeweatherallday & @zagareet__’s yetpet (@tearjerkey) bringing the fun and feral energy. sideways movement, mutant low-end, wormhole rhythms and plenty of sounds that absolutely refuse to behave themselves. yetpet’s sets are made for getting lost in the room.

we think it’s fine time to get lost with us & when powered by @upperserangoonsoundsystem, we’re all definitely in for a sesh.

Super happy to have had the opportunity to play on Shutter Rhythms last week.

Coinciding nicely with my turntables arriving from the UK I was able to dust off some records and mess around a little bit.

Much love to @_kinsssss and @s_____ffyan for inviting me down and the crew who came down to hang out. Hopefully on to more opportunities to play in Singapore

Kins’ july show with us goes full remote via soundcloud, and is now available for playback 🔊

unfiltered & instinctive, In the midst of it all w/ Kins has always been less about performance & more about honesty through one’s selections; july’s rendition sees the introduction of seoul’s Cozyhoon as a special guest on the second half. @cozyhoon’s been known to follow the thread between dub, balearic, house and techno with an easy sense of flow. playful yet patient, his storytelling leaves plenty of room for surprise

since first emerging in seoul’s underground in 2017, Cozyhoon has become a familiar face across the city’s nightlife, curating and hosting parties at spaces including @nyapi_seoul, @kockiri_official, @paper.seoul & @argaseoul. a key figure behind @dumbodisco.kr and @taxidriver.seoul series, he’s further helped cultivate an open, borderless approach to club music; a jack of all trades 🔑

@_kinsssss’ monthly show with us explores the space between chaos and clarity through music. with so much constantly moving around us; new sounds, new emotions, new influences. it’s easy to lose the connection to what feels real. this show is an attempt to hold onto that feeling. a space where guests and himself share what genuinely moves them in the present moment; the sounds they keep returning to, the records that reflect where they are emotionally, and creatively. unfiltered and instinctive, it’s less about performance and more about honesty through selections ⚗️
