Five years ago tomorrow, my left leg was amputated below the knee. What I thought was the end of one chapter turned out to be the beginning of another.

The last five years have included pain, setbacks, disappointment, growth, friendship, sport, and more than a few surprises. They have also taught me that life doesn’t have to look the way we planned for it to still be good.

Today, I’m grateful for the people who walked this journey with me and for the opportunities that have come from it.

Five years ago, I couldn’t see what was ahead. Today, I can honestly say that some of life’s greatest blessings arrived through a door I never wanted to open. @parasportontario @paratriathlonon @_koolwaysports @strengthcogrimsby @brant_stachel @motioncares @freedomconcepts @ghacaquatics

Tomorrow, representing Canada, I have the privilege of competing at the US Nationals in Milwaukee.

I’m incredibly grateful for the support of @dare2tri_ and @usatriathlon , whose dedication helps make opportunities like this possible. Looking forward to the challenge and giving my best effort on race day.

While my results at the Canadian National Open Para Race in Edmonton were not what I had hoped for, I am grateful for the opportunity and experience of competing there.I’m thankful for all of my coaches, who continue to see my potential, and for the members of Team La Salle, who continue to believe in me even when I don’t believe in myself.

A sincere thank you as well to my sponsors for their continued support. Your belief in my journey allows me to pursue my goals and compete at the highest level. I am truly grateful to have you in my corner.

My time in Edmonton taught me a great deal, and the race highlighted areas where I need to improve. Every experience is an opportunity to learn, grow, and come back stronger.

As the saying goes, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”This race did not define me, but it did show me where I need to focus my efforts moving forward. The journey continues.
