Thanks to @kismetmovies, WIFT Vic Vice President Katie Page had a chance to chat to acclaimed Aussie director Sophie Hyde about their new feature film Jimpa and the vulnerability of adapting personal stories for the big screen.

You can read the conversation over on our journal (https://www.wiftvic.com.au/journal/) or visit the link in our bio.

JIMPA is in Australian cinemas NOW. Visit https://kismetmovies.com/releases/jimpa#cinemas to find a session near you.

Last week team Iris Arc Pictures had the absolute delight of attending the Australian International Movie Convention as Industry Consultants for the @screenaustralia Filmmakers Masterclass.

At the Masterclass we were able to hear from leaders across funding, development, distribution, exhibition, research and marketing (just to name a few), giving insight on how to foster a more collaborative industry with a shared goal of increasing Australian films at the Box Office and growing audience engagement.

After the Masterclass, we did what we do best: eating choc tops, watching films and tearing up the dance floor. Thank you to Cinema Association Australasia and all presenting partners for such a fantastic convention. We’re fired up and excited for the future of our local screen industry.

At Iris Arc Pictures, we believe a thriving industry is a collaborative industry, so being able to attend and develop events like these is particularly close to our heart.

If you’d like to work together on similar projects and programs, get in touch!

Feeling miffed that you couldn’t get to every film on your MIFF watchlist? We know that heartbreak all too well.

The good news is, some of our faves from the program are returninging to the big screen this week with more to drop soon in cinemas and on streaming.

Our VP, Katie Page has pulled together some of her top picks and where/when you can catch them. From local Aussie features, International darlings and films by women filmmakers, there's a whole lot to get excited for.

And that’s a wrap on another year of St Kilda Film Festival!

What a joy to be one of the festival sponsors this year and meeting so many wonderful filmmakers and film lovers!

Not only did we have the pleasure of presenting this year’s Shifting The Gaze program, but our very own @laurenjsimpson and her team shared some wisdom in the Filmmaker Developer Program.

What was your favourite part of the festival this year?
