POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

RENT is a very cool production and all but... shall we talk about the chemistry of this cast for a second? Because having seen this production, I genuinely believe that's where its magic lies.

You don't get to witness that sort of positive energy between a cast (and crew, as a matter of fact) every day. As soon as performers stepped on stage for the pre-show, there was a powerful loving exchange in the room that made this story all the more genuine.

The most interesting thing is that it seems like the stage design was planned to motivate that, with chairs placed around the stage, from where the cast would every so often watch and hype each other up as audience members themselves.

The importance this production of RENT places in the ensemble members is potentialized by that bond, and its strength is cast onto the audience through moments that almost seem like fourth wall breaking. Hard to tell which exchanges are real and which are fiction when the symbiosis is this natural though. So you're left wondering, "are they really having that much fun with each other up there?".

If these curtain call photos are any proof...

Queer Edge was born in East London to fill the gap between a bar + a rave and bring the local queer community together. And it worked, like MAGIC. ✨

What started as a party grew into a community, bringing together housemates, best mates, work mates, couples, marriages, throuples and everyone in between.

Inspired by feeling like London’s gay scene was a bit too segregated. Because let’s be honest… how many times did you have to choose between a rave predominantly for gay guys, a lesbian night often tucked in a basement, or a party specifically for polyamorous people?

Why choose. The collective wanted to create spaces where everyone could show up as themselves - regardless of gender, sexuality, age or relationship style - and truly feel like they belong ❤️

And now, they’re bringing it to BRIGHTON.

Launch party, 7th November!

WATCH. THIS. SPACE. 👀♥️
