Nature over Nurture or is it both? This child probably has an IQ off the charts. We don't know. What we do know is a 1yo with 4 teeth in her mouth could identity her letters before she could even speak. What we do know is a 2yo who was practicing to speak clearly knew the sounds the letters made. What we do know is a 4yo is reading! We knew to nurture her nature and her natural curiosity to learn. We knew to make opportunities for learning and exploration. We knew that screen time, when used properly, can enrich a learning environment. We know that reading is fundamental and the key to success! We got a Reader, Y'all! 📚📖📗📕📔

Fighting Breast Cancer is a team support. If you know someone whose life is being touched by breast cancer, show up and support them. Support looks different for different people- texts, calls, food, laundry, visits and sometimes a party thrown by your daughter to celebrate you and the fight you are about to begin. Thank you, Candace for my Boob-Voyage Party! Watching this moment still brings tears to my eyes. I love you! @_laviolette I'm still here. Living, loving and keeping my power. I wish Mo Power To You, too! #breastcancerawareness🎀 #breastcancer #mopowertoyou

These pictures represent something bigger than memories. They represent a life lived investing in the happiness of people you love. If life has taught me anything, it’s this: blood doesn’t make you family. Love does. ❤️ Family is the person who checks on you just because. The one who calls simply to say, “Hey, what you doing?” with no favor coming at the end of the conversation. 😂 The one who celebrates your victories, prays you through your storms, shows up when life gets heavy, and reminds you that you don’t have to carry everything by yourself. Cheryl, you have been that person. You have prayed for me, celebrated with me, laughed with me, cried with me, loved my family, and even took on the responsibility of being godmother to my children. Girl, that was a bold decision 😂 because you didn’t just choose me. You voluntarily signed up for the whole family package. No refunds. No exchanges. No cancellations. Just locked in for life, Sis! That right there deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award because loving me is one thing, but voluntarily signing up for these kids too? 😂❤️ That's a lot! You are caring, dependable, loyal, and one of those people we know we can count on. You show up, check in, pray, and love, and you do it without keeping score. I love you simply for being you. So today, when you look at these pictures, I hope you see what I see: years of laughter, friendship, family, celebrations, foolishness, prayers, probably some questionable decisions 😂, and most importantly, LOVE. I hope you see what the rest of us see: a woman whose life is woven into the lives of so many people who genuinely love her. These are your flowers 💐 and we are your people and this is the beautiful life your love helped create. Happy Birthday, Cheryl! 🎂🥳❤️ You are loved more than you know, and I’m so grateful that somewhere along the way, friendship turned into family, and apparently, we’re all getting older together, which was NOT part of the original friendship agreement, but here we are 🤣 and after all these years... you’re stuck with us. 😂❤️ @peachescmp

August 1st. For so many people, the first day of a new month represents fresh starts, new beginnings, and hope for what's ahead. For me, it marks an ending because on the first day of the month, my mother left this earth. Every since then, this date on the calendar carries a weight it never has before. While the world is making vision boards and setting new goals, I'm learning how to make it through another day that reminds me of saying goodbye to her and it's hard. I found this old video of us picking flowers and I watched as she gently tucked them into my hair. I wonder if she knew that years later, this ordinary moment would become one of my greatest treasures. It's funny how love works because a moment that seems so small while you're living it can become the one your heart clings to when someone is gone. Grief is a strange companion because it distorts time. It makes a day feel like eternity or years feel like yesterday. It makes you cry today the same way you cried when the love first left. But grief will also teach you to treasure every laugh, every touch, every flower placed lovingly in your hair. So today, I will cry and smile and miss this lady with all of my heart and I thank God that before she became my memory, she was my mother. If your mom is still here, pick the flowers, take the video, hold her hand, and hug her just a little bit tighter. One day, these ordinary moments will become the most extraordinary gifts you have left. I miss you every single day, Mommy. 🌼🤍
