@downtownvoices ! i thought i was ready to leave this part of me behind as i continue to pharmacy school, but looking back at this wonderful cast of talented people i was gonna leave behind, i couldn’t put my heart into it. you guys have been my second home for three years, and i’m eternally grateful for all the opportunities we’ve had to perform to others and to ourselves, and i want to continue to support you all as long as i can. thank you ❤️

Another day, another 3 recaps of the year that I never posted.

These are the behind the scenes moments of three of musicals from the year. You've seen the footage of the shows, but here are some of the faces!

What a special moment bringing Poptart to see one of her favorite princess stories come to life with Beauty and The Beast at South Elgin. My accident cut short my time at these performances, but I'm beyond grateful that I was able to be there when I was. I love my co-workers. They make me laugh and feel so cared for. I love how hard working these students are. Dancers- yall always do the most in the best way! Seniors- you know I love & miss you all already. Such a team of leaders!

Metea's production of Shrek came and went, and I wept for a multitude of reasons at the last show. That darn school takes me on a wild ride of emotions yearly. One of our students said to me " Ms. Brenda I don't think we tell you enough how much we appreciate you." And I losttttt it. I put an insane amount of pressure on myself that makes me feel like I could always do more for them. Lots of growth here as a director every year that I'm here. I pour 6 months of my mental energy for these productions and feel lucky to have access to the resources that we have. Seniors' sweet energy and talent are already missed. They freaking nailed my impersonation. I love that the students allow me to be my most authentic and wild energy self. Love them loadsssss. Nick, Breena, Alex, Cam. Thank you endlessly.

Fenton's production of spongebob was such a SPRINT of a show. Beyond grateful for these co-workers that make me laugh and support me in life. Thank you for seeing me and valuing what I bring to the team. You're truly the greatest. Love love love these students and how honest and authentic they are w me. Seniors are missed already, but I just know I'll see them again in the future. Y'all are the best at staying in touch. Love you oodles!

Thank you 2024 students & co workers. You all have been truly such a big part of my life & year EVERY YEAR for the past 9 or so years.

Grateful for so muchhhh art & laughs & stories & singing & dancing!

Today was the first time we sang with the new muses members! It was a great way to start off the year and singing with both old and new muses members was truly an honor. We had such a great time and thank you so much to @kidsmatter2us for letting us sing at Lou Malnatis tonight!

And now, the 23-24 muses season comes to an end. 🤝

We will miss these 6 seniors and their goofiness. 🥸

In all seriousness, thank you so much to these 6 wonderful and talented singers. It has been a dream singing with you guys and muses would not have been this fun without you. Thank you for being not only amazing role models, but also amazing friends. And although we are sad to see you guys graduate, we know you seniors will accomplish amazing things in the future. So with a full but heavy heart, we say goodbye to the muses seniors. We love you 🫶
