Sincere thanks to all the sweet hearted individuals who contributed to Sorry For All The Mouth Noises.
Ross Garren is a freakin wizard, an extremely versatile and sophisticated instrumentalist with an aw-shucks demeanor and a metric butt-ton of esoteric harmonicas and strange old analog gear. I am forever grateful he sheepishly invited himself over to my studio so we could establish our routine of making each other chuckle with weird beautiful sounds.
I’ve been taking mostly-completed sessions to likeminds studio to run everything through their Scully 280 series tape machine and to hang out with Cherry the dog. They ended up finish-lining all of the songs on this EP with us, adding drums/perc, sitar, Celeste, DX7, Trident, space echo and providing top quality mixes.
Dougall Dawson and I connected earlier this year, his animations brought this project to visual life, injecting real human emotion and hand-drawn care into every frame. Ross and I would cackle with delight when another draft from Dougall landed, little animated Swatty and Ross figures grooving along in these different worlds.
The final track, Live Hear Now, serves as the capstone to the project. A still frame from the animation is the EP artwork, and in that basement scene are contained representations of all the little worlds from the animations: ant farm, cityscape, greenhouse, etc.
And thanks you all for checking out the project, I think it’s a little strange and a lot cool and I’m very proud of it. Love you all 🧡

it’s also a love letter to everyone who feels called to do something a little weird, a little different, or to just wear their heart on their sleeve unabashedly.

It is with immense pride and gratitude, I give you ‘Life Can Still Be Sweet’ my sophomore record, out everywhere today.

This collection of songs chronicles the adventures, challenges and wonder of a girl as she becomes a woman. We’ve got heartbreak, lust, roommate drama, a parent getting sick, friend breakups, breakup breakups, three part harmony, Wurlitzer, Hammond B3, guitars, synths, drum machines, a whole lot of heart and soul, a little twang to make the soup just right! 🩵

I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love in this lifetime. There is no greater joy. THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!

The past few years my world has exploded like a garden blooming full of amazing collaborators, without whom, this album would not exist. I am indebted to my amazing friends and their gifts!! Sheesh!!

This last show in New York was an absolute DREAM. surreal in every way. What a gorgeous way to close out this life changing tour. I’m in total disbelief and overflowing in gratitude. and sold out ☺️

This was the one where after we put the basic rhythm track together at my place, Ross went back to his evil genius lair and subsequently sent me a folder with about 50 high quality harmonica and bass harmonica and polyphonia tracks all processed through Leslie speakers and tape echoes and bucket brigade choruses whereupon he sweetly apologized for burying me in stacks of golden dulcet tones. Full thing available you know where.
