Marikana Still...fontein Directed by Nhlanhla Ngqaqu.

here, a scene that speaks to the often-overlooked reality of the Marikana Massacre tragedy: the role women play as givers and carers of labour, the silent, exploited labour of social reproduction, and a tale of raising children alone, really, the genesis of the crisis of rampant fatherlessness in this country.
The widows of Marikana, whose stories, pain, and anxieties about the future of their children are suppressed and never seen! this scene is enacted by @mandi_nokonya and @itumeleng_rhonah

siyabulela to @kazakambapanafricanfest2026 , @markettheatre . @_livebug for sound. @maestro.radebe_ and the camera crew and @slovo_mamphaga for the poster. most of all we would like to thank the brilliant cast, crew and musicians who all put their hearts on stage and behind the scenes.

iPhupho L'ka Biko turns 10 Years and we are celebrating it in style, honouring the godmother of Newtown, uMam' Simnikiwe Sondlo as Niki's Oasis Jazz Restaurant @nikisjazz turns 30 Years.

Niki's Oasis has been and it is a home to a lot of musicians, artists, art appreciators and more. it is therefore important for us to honour this honourable woman who has been holding this important space with warmth and grace.

one can never speak about history of South African jazz without the mention of Niki's Oasis, and equally so, one can't ignore the ongoing impact and influence of iPhupho L'ka Biko since her formation back in 2015

tickets are limited, Bahlali, please come and celebrate with this historic milestone with us

be on the lookout for the exciting program featuring other incredible artists who will be joining us on this special day
