Venusaur and Bulbasaur
🌱
It’s always fun to see how two different artists can interpret a similar source of inspiration when it comes to kendama design. It’s both a display of creativity and proof that there isn’t exactly a “correct” or specific way to adapt a design.

Venusaur V2 x Horizon V2
🟢
A recent Lofty custom I bought second-hand! Only 3 of these were made iirc. This was an updated version of the initial Venusaur design; the original released back in 2021 while the update came two years later in 2023.
•
Pretty hyped to have one of these roughly 2 years after their initial release, and in fresh condition, too! It’ll definitely go really well with the Bulbasaur Pokéball custom that I have. The Horizon V2’s padauk splice is a nice natural complement to the Venusaur colorway, and it’s a nice reminder of the past.

(*Switch) Lunar, Lunar Tré Flip, Falling In
🍊
I was planning to add this as a bonus trick to my Day 27 upload for 29TL (filmed on the 28th before my makeup trick for Day 27), but the length of it made me decide to post it as its own separate Reel. Yet another trick from BATB that I couldn’t get there but was eventually able to grind out during February! Absolutely stoked on this; s/o to the KDS! This one goes out to you all, especially @discobiscuiteer, @damaornot, @crispydama, @dad.dama, @tomfooldama, and @tommchill off the top of my head for who was there to see me get the crazy idea to try and get it. Might be forgetting a few faces 😅

Felt like the laptop needed a sticker update to reflect some recent changes :)
•
I want to add more stickers to this, but I don’t wanna use up most of my stickers that I only have one copy of.

Absolutely stoked to actually have these four setups now in my possession. It’s a satisfying end of a big era in my time playing kendama, and it also serves as a nice reminder of being on the Lofty Craft Inc. team. Although Lofty has been closed for business for roughly seven months now, the memories that it carried will never be forgotten. I will cherish these setups dearly.
•
Stay Lofty, my friend. :)

Roots Custom Revamp
🌳
This setup is the product of me wanting to design a revamp of my very first Roots custom! The idea I gave to them was a maple ken and ash tama that had a white bottom half and a top half that faded from orange to forest green going down. Back then, I wanted an upside-down version of the Sweets Prime Custom V3 Purple Rain Split with different colors, but it turned out a little different that I expected.
•
With the new custom (done up by the one and only @_LoftyCraft_ and with their ApeX2 clear coat!), I decided to take those three colors but slightly rearrange them into a more modern and playable design + keep the same wood combo of maple ken ash tama. The forest green was brightened to a more normal green with a faded white tracking dot on top, and the orange got lightened a bit. The bottom half also includes a white tracking stripe around the 70/30 and a natty bevel ring for that extra little bit of playability! I did a little side-by-side with the original custom to show the differences between the two designs.
•
Something I used to do back in 2017-2018 was draw a few things on my kendamas to match the tama colors! I was pretty into Tetris at the time, so I drew the orange and green pieces on the back of the ken. The tree was chosen to have a bit of regular green somewhere on the setup, and the big cup rim features the Japanese word for kendama (it’s very faded though). I fell out of the habit and don’t really do it anymore, but it’s a nice reminder of my past that I don’t want to erase or forget.

Karasu and Kamomedai
🏐
These are the two Haikyuu teams I’ve currently designed tamas for! Wanted to have them side-by-side really quick as well as include some images from the stage play featuring both teams.
•
Definitely one of the more niche pairs of damas I have, but I really do like the two of them together! So glad I was able to get these painted up on maple @_LoftyCraft_ setups. I hope I can get an updated version of the Karasu painted up soon; been scheming some ideas on how to improve on the base design and make it more Karasuno-like!

Snarkle Rocks “Tonkatsu” 3D Animal Tama - James Colorway Version (aka “Sneaks”)
💚
@Snarkle.Rocks hosted a colorway contest a while back for their new animal tama shape, and I, along with @tommchill, ended up being the winners of it! As a reward, both of our colorways were released alongside the original colorway on the Snarkle Rocks site, and we each got one of our tamas in our respective colorways! Pictured is my colorway cleared over with @_LoftyCraft_’s ApeX2 clear coat and paired with a Snarkle Rocks x Cereal Kendama Hybrid 2 ken. I also tried to model it with the inspiration for the colorway!
•
The main inspiration for my tama is my pair of Flex 2016 Run Nike running shoes in teal! I think I specifically chose these since they’re one of the brightest pairs of shoes that I’ve worn throughout my life so far, and I thought the various shades of teal and neon yellow/green would make for a nice tama! I wore these sometime around middle school to early high school, and the idea to use them as a tama colorway hit me while trying to come up with a third one for the contest (each participant was allowed a max of three colorway entries). I’ve been wanting to create a tama design around some of my old shoes, so to see one of them come to life in this format feels like a dream come true! You can see my original draft of the colorway along with a 3D render of it (courtesy of Snarkle Rocks) in Slides 9 and 10.
•
Thank you so so much again to Kellie and Seth + everyone who voted for my colorway for making this happen! I’ve been playing this a little bit already, and it is just so damn fun. I believe you can still cop one of these tamas from the Snarkle Rocks site, so check them out if you want one!

Matcha Sol Vibe
🍵
Matcha is in my Top 5 boba tea flavors, and it was the very first Vibe that I wanted to buy from the new Sol Vibes lineup! I love how the natural green tones and white go together so well with the natty beech on the tama, and the tracking on this is just perfect. It’s truly an amazing design with an amazing color scheme to go along with it! Rin, you absolutely killed it with this Vibe design!
•
I realized that I tend to wear a lot of green clothing items and occasionally bring a green accessory with me when I go out or go to school, so I decided to also get some shots of the Matcha Vibe with my fit from when I took these pictures + the Vibe with one of my accessories (Arrow Raise Buckle from Kamen Rider Geats; my good-luck charm) and a matcha milk tea from Em-Tea! I’m pretty satisfied with how these photos turned out, and this setup will definitely be a daily jammer along with the Mikan. Can’t wait to clip up with the two mods!
•
(This is also now my second kendama that has a design inspired by a type of green tea! I have a tama inspired by a Bigelow Green Tea box that I had painted up way back in January 2023. You can check it out in the last slide!)
