lucky danger or lucky ranking? 👀🍜 a fun neighborhood gem with a B+… but does it deserve that #21 spot on washingtonian’s top 100? you decide.

Looking for a preshow dinner in downtown DC? [hosted] I recommend @_luckydanger for a fun, innovative meal that won’t break the bank! As a restaurant kid, I admire other folks following in their parents footsteps even when our path there is not always direct 😉

I’m also newly obsessed with Mahjong after learning how to play the Hong Kong style in their Mahjong bar. If anybody wants to learn and play with me, hmu 🤙😘

I had such a fun time during @_luckydanger’s weekly Mahjong Nights! They have a few spots left for their Hong Kong & American style lessons - grab your ticket ASAP #hosted

Last Tuesday, @pootie_ting and I learned how to play Hong Kong style Mahjong and were treated to a lovely dinner afterwards. I love Lucky Danger so much - it’s a place that honors the American-Chinese experience of growing up in the US and serves fusion cuisine that is thoughtful and wonderful. This restaurant is the brainchild of @cheftimma and is the beginning of a Chinatown DC revival that includes folks of Chinese descent!

More about the menu to come but at this point, I’ve tried half of the menu and loved every bite. My must gets are the crab lo mein, crab rangoons, and chongqing chicken 🔥 Check out their lunch and pre-theatre menus for some dining deals

Finally made my way to @_luckydanger months ago for Restaurant Week, and I definitely left with a beautiful big belly. 😂

Such a cool place with a fun environment — definitely the kind of spot where you can settle in and eat a LOT.

For the Restaurant Week menu, we got:

🥟 Dumplings — a great start and gone pretty quickly.

🍤 Shrimp Chow Mein — flavorful, comforting, and definitely helped contribute to that food baby. 😂

🍡 Black Sesame Mochi — this one kind of slapped. Definitely my favorite way to finish the meal.

Good food, good service, cool environment, and a very full stomach. I’d say Restaurant Week did its job. 😂
