HAPPY GALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!! Yes I promise it’s a thing! A day to celebrate your gal-pals, even if you are a fella I think, a modern tradition that falls the day before Valentine’s Day. I feel like it’s a fitting opportunity to share this bit of sentiment: Love is for everyone. It’s available around us, and present within us no matter what our relationship status. Valentine’s Day gets marketed as the day of romance only, but I have ALWAYS used it as an opportunity to send thanks to love (and to those I love) in the broadest of terms. It’s possible to love a town, a place, a pet, a partner, a best friend, a parent, a mentor, a pocketed pant-suit, a pop star, or a peanut butter sandwich. I don’t always know when their individual birthdays are (anyone know when Dolly Parton was born?), but I know that each year on this week I can get excited about the idea of celebrating how much I love em! And practicing putting myself at the top of that list whether I have a partner or not. In the past I’ve given happy valentine cards to friends, interns, family, and to me! I dress up, give people I see a squeeze, and feel a deep sense of gratitude that love exists, it’s free, and even if we feel we don’t have it from others - we can create it for zero cost within ourselves right? Here’s to love 🥂 , starting today with my girl best friends who have always provided me with enough love to fill my own cup ten times over xxx

Sitting in my studio thinking about the end & closure of the Art & Design Foundation course in Canterbury, Kent this year. I was sad to miss the final private view party last week. So I’m sending out a lot of love & hugs to all my old colleagues & all of the students I’ve taught over the years on that inspiring Foundation course folk who are now at Uni, studying for BA’s, MA’s, PHD’s, working in the creative industries, doing their creative thing all over the planet holding their Foundation year experience with them for the rest of their lives. It’s a sad time to be losing that Foundation course or ANY art & design course in this crazy world where we need artists & creatives more than EVER!! That course was such a year of transformation in so many young people’s lives…in lots of different ways & I always felt it was a privilege to teach on such a great foundation course & to work with that creative team for so many years…🎨🖼️🎨 i’m feeling the loss here in my caravan studio in the corner of a field in Wales….& I wouldn’t be here without that course in my education & career…. 💔💔💔💕 #loveart #artschool #artstudent #artist #artanddesignfoundation

I have a thing for alliums. Which is why I took such care to select and grow a wide selection this year - and pollinators which is a good thing considering the planting myself and @_lucychick have chosen.
