Finally, pictures from the USA vs. Turkiye match! What an incredible experience to see the US play in a World Cup on home turf. It was such a joy to feel the enthusiasm for this team, and for people to be cheering on the USA without any political agenda. While the loss on the final play was disappointing, if we were to lose, that was the best way for it to happen as spirits were high and the anticipation for a win remained throughout the match. We only felt a couple of seconds of shock followed by the realization that the match was meaningless in the standings. The whole evening was a celebration of what this team has accomplished and served as a sendoff to the knockout stage.

After a whirlwind week, I finally had time to go through pictures from our World Cup trip to LA. This was my first time at Sofi Stadium. While it is gorgeous architecturally, the Benz is more efficient to navigate and cheaper. We stayed at the Hilton by LAX, and the LA Metro ran express busses that were free on the way over and $1.75 on the way back and only took about 15 mins. each way, so that was a major win.

Our fourth and final World Cup match in Atlanta. We saw a wild match between Haiti and Morocco with multiple goals scored right in front of us, including Haiti's first World Cup goal in 52 years. Adrian even deflected a wayward shot into the crowd.

Our third World Cup match in Atlanta was Spain vs. Saudi Arabia. We again saw history with Lamine Yamal's first World Cup goal. The game also was special to me after being in Saudi Arabia to see the celebrations on the streets when they won their first major international competition (the AFC Asian Cup) before they had ever qualified for a World Cup, and then to see them play in a World Cup in my hometown felt like a full circle moment.

World Cup Match 2 in Atlanta: South Africa vs. Czechia. And, we were upgraded to Club Level. What a nice surprise.

What a way to start the World Cup in Atlanta with a historic draw between first-time participant Cabo Verde and many people's favorite to win the tournament, Spain! While a draw is not technically an upset, it has to have been one of the most shocking results in World Cup history.
