There is a form of baby blues no one has ever shared with me. They are the uncontrollable emotions that come the day after your baby says I Do and is officially no longer your baby. They take your breath away and make you feel things you can’t explain or put into words. There’s a little hole that enters your heart that you didn’t see coming. It cripples you a little. It was the most magical day. It filled me with so much joy. It made my heart burst with pride. Maybe that’s it. Maybe it’s not a hole, maybe it burst into pieces.

Here’s your sign to write your daughter a letter when she’s a baby that you can read to her on the Eve of her wedding and realize all the wishes and dream you had for her, your relationship with her, your future together, and her future beyond your arms have come true more than you can ever think or imagine. Happy Wedding Day my sweet baby Makenna!!!!
My sweet baby Makenna,

You are such a treasure to me. I am so in love with you and have been since the day you were born. I never knew I could be so happy. I can’t help but smile at you because you are such a pretty baby. Having you is like getting the one present you always wanted. Only you get to open it every day and it never gets old. I could just sit and look at you all day long and never get bored. You are the most precious thing on earth.

You make my love for your dad grow every day as well. Knowing that the two of us produced such a beautiful little girl is amazing to me.

I can only pray that you have a great life. You deserve to have everything your heart desires and I hope I can always provide for you. I hope you realize you can always come to me for anything. You can always confide in me + I will always be your mom and I will always love you.

I pray in the future we will be more than just mother and daughter. I pray we can be best friends! You fill my heart with a happiness I’ve never felt and with a love I have never known.

You are my little sunshine and I love you more and more every time you smile and even when you cry. I hope to comfort your fears, dry your tears, and share in your laughter.

Always know your Mama will always be here for you.

Showered my beauty today! So blessed to be her mom and walk along side her in this life. Raising her was one of my greatest joys so celebrating her is easy. Can’t wait for the big day!! She found her honey and we are gaining an extraordinary man into our family. 8.29.26
