The year 2022–2023 was one of the most challenging seasons of my life. I moved to a new country and faced painful betrayal from people I once held dear. Every day felt empty, but I refused to give up. Instead, I chose to persevere. I made God my everything.

And then came Braxton Henry, my literal knight in shining armor. It felt like God sent him straight to me, right when I needed saving. In the same year, he asked me to be his wife and made me a mother. 🤭

All this happened while I was pursuing my master’s degree and teaching full-time. It was a whirlwind, a rollercoaster; but through it all, I sought the Lord.

And now? I am Oniquca Henry. 🤭

We waited 3 years for this moment, but baby girl could not wait any longer to meet us. On August 31st, our miracle baby girl was born! Our hearts are so full!👧🏽💕 Moja, from the time we got a positive pregnancy test to the first time we heard your heartbeat to the first time I felt your kicks, we have been in love with you! You are the missing piece we needed and the gift we will never take for granted. 💕

Undergoing an emergency C-section is not easy and despite my concerns about the surgery, I am grateful for being here to witness the birth of our sweet baby girl! Often times I catch myself staring at her just because…like y’all, I am a whole mother 🤣 and she’s so perfect!

Fertility struggles is a journey no woman plans for. But I want to remind every woman that is battling with conceiving, that God sees your tears and hears your prayers. His timing is perfect and His promises will unfold in due time. It’s been a minute so let’s do a quick #FridayIntroduction for all of you who may be new here 😉 My name is Denise + I’m the owner/operator of DBP. I’m based in the Charlotte Metro area (Rock Hill, SC to be exact) + I love capturing brands, graduating seniors, bridal portraits + maternity sessions 🤎 I also love educating fellow photographers through my 1:1 coaching program. As much as I love shooting, coaching truly makes me feel like I’m making a difference!

When I’m not shooting or teaching I enjoy traveling, spending time with my loved ones, working out + watching a good true crime doc 😉 I’m also currently obsessed with Levii’s Jeans off of the new Cowboy Carter album (are you a fan?) so it’s on repeat at the moment 🤠

On a lazy afternoon I love nothing more than getting lost in the pages of a captivating story. It's a chance to escape reality for a bit, explore new ideas + broaden your horizons. Reading (or these days, listening to an audio book) allows me to unwind + find moments of calm when life gets hectic. What's a book you’re currently loving?
