That’s a wrap on Free Books House powered by Manor Place!!!!! The ppldem really were in stem for this. Superrr proud of the entire team, including collaborators and volunteers who pulled all of this together for the mission of giving the community a quality experience of the arts and literature that’s free and accessible.

This is truly one of the best things to come out of London.

During corporate Nancy era, I was a fan/ attendee of FBC (trying to make a partnership happen when we were publishing a book with Hachette) and since being freelance, I’m able to be @sofiaakel’s 2nd in live production and now Co-curator with the incredible creative that is @arinderizzio. It has been suchhh a fun and rewarding journey! Every hand that’s been involved is truly 10/10.

Cannot wait to see @freebookscampaign continue bringing all this tea to the people❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

With a steady hand, a scalpel and a dream, @arinderizzio free hand laser cut our logo vinyl when the printer just tapped out 😭 incredible.

goals for the @rise_utd exhibition were:
1) to inspire audiences with the stories of community, sports culture, heritage and ESEA+ creativity. That they may go away and think of local communities or sports clubs they could join and think of unexpected ways they too can tell their own stories whether through T-shirts, ceramic trophies, food, music, socials, photography, etc.

2) to make Rise members feel well represented, celebrated and proud of all they’ve done so far in building such a beautiful home for ESEA+ Londoners. Their feature in the exhibition and panel is only one small commemoration of the incredible labour and spirit behind their storytelling & sports legacy!

This year, our Free Books Festival furniture is being brought to life by @ResolveCollective!

We took a little peek behind the scenes at @tippingpointeast with the lovely @celinetopsakal who gave us a run down of what RESOLVE is all about ✨

RESOLVE is an interdisciplinary design collective combining architecture, engineering, technology and art to address social challenges. They’ve delivered projects, workshops, publications, and talks across the world, all working toward just and equitable visions of change in our built environment. Their practice centres on designing with and for young people and under-represented groups, using ‘design’ as both a physical and systemic tool for political and socio-economic change.

They’ve worked with institutions including @palaisdetokyo, @qattanfoundation, Het Nieuwe Instituut, @vamuseum and a variety of public sector clients like the London boroughs of Lambeth and Croydon.

We’ve partnered with Resolve to bring some community-crafted furniture into the space, and we can’t wait for you to settle in 💚

Tickets are almost gone, so make sure to grab yours now while you still can via the link in our bio! 💫🎟️

Networks of Care is a cultural assembly of voices from our ecosystem. For this INBETWEEN edition at the @icalondon we presented a series of publications from people and organisations that embody the spirit of self-publishing and DIY culture — centred on fostering care, imagination and resistance.

This installation is a prototype, still being developed and still finding its shape. It has been co-designed and co-built alongside our collaborators and peers — @resolvecollective. All materials were sourced from @_materialstore_ a project by RESOLVE that is building community around material justice and furthering the redistribution of materials and resources to historically marginalised communities.

A special thanks to RESOLVE Collective, @janadardouk, @celinetopsakal, @david.gosta.dawson, @tamara.rabea, @isabellakajiwara and @skindeepmag for their contributions in developing what Networks of Care can be.

Featuring works by: @acvmagazine, @arccamagazine, @angela_photographs, @eyesoremagazine, @_emmalwarren_, @freedom_balance, @sahra_hersi, @hark1karan, @nabil_alkinani, @pesovisuals, @sissyanarchy, @aspaceforusnow, @skindeepmag and @tamara.rabea

Tipping Point East is the the UK’s first circular construction hub opened in London’s Royal Docks last month. By a small collective including Yes Make, Resolve Collective, and Material Cultures

Waste from Construction makes up 62% of the UK’s waste. Over 100 million tonnes a year. London alone throws away 10 million. It’s cheaper to run a digger through a building than to store what’s inside it.

It’s taking the so called underdogs to make a stand and show how little changes can help with taking the climate crisis serious.
