[ CHAMPION TRAINING ] Training that yields shooting under par in tournament play
.
MBGA Junior Elite Student @rafa_tanjunggolf (Indonesia) 🇮🇩 seen training with MB. Rafa made the move from Indonesia to Lake Mary, FL so that he could train on a regular basis with MB. The Junior Elite Program is comprised of golf hungry high school kids from all over the 🌎 who attend school locally while training at the MBGA daily
.
IT’S 7:30AM: One of the cool parts about this training session is that it’s first thing in the morning and it’s extra credit. Extra credit means it’s not part of the normal curriculum. MB gets to the Academy every day long before the sun comes up and if the Elite Juniors want to get some extra work in with him he makes himself available prior to his 8am lesson. He makes zero dollars for this. It’s free training out of the goodness of his own heart - BECAUSE HE’S A RARE INDIVIDUAL THAT TRULY CARES ABOUT PEOPLE. MB KNOWS HE’S GOT THE WISDOM TO POSITIVELY INFLUENCE THESE JUNIORS’ FUTURES
.
BENDER PLANE BOARD TRAINING: Video 1 Rafa learns some new ways to take the club head on plane around the arc more effectively when working on the post impact side of the swing
.
ALIGNMENT STATION DETAILS: It’s imperative that students get this right when setting this up. MB helps Rafa to understand how he can get better at this task. DETAILS are crucial
.
BENDER POP QUIZ: Once you’ve already worked with MB once (via an in person visit) in future lessons he’ll often question students to see what they’re doing to work on the recommended adjustments. This is his way of figuring out 1) if the student understands what they should be working on & 2) if they’re actually working on it with the prescribed Drills & Feedback Stations. If the student can’t explain how they’re working on the material then you know they haven’t been training properly
.
HUGE CONGRATS TO RAFA 🇮🇩 ON HIS RECENT @hurricanejrgolf VICTORY 🥇 72,70 (-2): 3 of the 4 top finishers in the Boys 16-18 Division train in the MBGA Junior Elite Program (Indonesia, Iowa, California) & the Girls 14-18 Division was won by McKenna (-6) who was featured in yesterday’s post

A HUGE congratulations to one of our lifters @_mckennamurphy for her 1st place finish at the World Teen Championships this weekend. She came in at the top of the girls 15-18 division. She’s worked incredibly hard for this both on the course and in the gym. We’re so proud to have a world champion in the gym!

Congratulations to @_mckennamurphy on winning the @u.s.kidsgolf Teen World Championship with rounds of 71,69,70 at @pinehurstresort . Mckenna has been in our @mikebendergolf Elite Program for years and has continued to climb the competitive ladder.

I knew she was going to have a great summer of golf after our last on course group training session in the elite program. She hit the pin from 100 yards on the full wedge video and chipped it close whenever she missed the green. She’s going into her senior year and has already committed to @southalabamawgf. All of us from the Mike Bender Golf Academy are so happy for her and her family. What a win!

Huge congratulations to member @_mckennamurphy! She’ll be going off to play golf for @southalabamawgf next year. It was an honor to be invited to her signing ceremony with her family and other coaches. As we’ve said before, McKenna’s attitude and work ethic have served her well in the gym, and obviously on the golf course. Fortunately we have a few more months to help her get even stronger and more formidable.
Come get strong with us!

My first team win with the griffins!! 🏆

It is still unreal that we won this tournament and it is probably the first time LMP won the Qdoba! Super proud of the team for playing our A games, the teamwork is on the next level!!! 😋🔥 🆙

My game was pretty solid that day, approaches were on target. Even though I could have made more birdies, my putting is definitely feeling much better than it was in the summer!

Peep the foot long Subway cookie that unfortunately got soggy from being left in the cooler 😞 definitely a shocker and unusual experience 😂

@u.s.kidsgolf worlds 2024!!
I had a lot of fun, but I couldn’t get anything going. the last day, we finished 16 holes and then got canceled for rain, so it ended up only being 36 holes. I had so much fun playing with @nataliehennesseygolf @anna_beaujondf @chiarawongr @mylakumar @ryleetrangolf 🫶🫶
