Tamilympics 2026 🏆 Read 👇🏾

A few months ago this was a doc on my laptop. Countless sleepless nights, hundreds of phone calls, and more hours than I can count later, on the 31st of May it was 300 of us at New River Leisure Centre making something the Tamil community will remember.

This one wasn’t me and @1avinaas . It was everyone.
To every athlete, university and committee volunteer who showed up and gave it everything. To the Tamil singers, athletes, streamers, influencers and business owners who came through too. Competition, culture, community and connection, all under one roof.

To our overseas guests who made the trip down, @yeaitsmt and @suriyatheflash , thank you for being part of this with us. We even had our very own actor @chinnathamizha

To all our friends and family who came down to support. Seeing you there made the day.

To @copperceylon and Haran, our main sponsor and a mentor through all of this. To Ara from @thamarai.uk , for the guidance and belief early on too. To @yarlkanifoodnwine , @unavu_kitchen and every other sponsor who backed us.

To @iftprod , Sirikanth, Suhaas and Boston, for the performances. To @papz.beesounds for the energy all day.

To our photography and video team who captured every angle of the day: Ashwin and @anfilms , @amiphotographyy , @akiicaptures, @hiflicks_studios, @kjclicksphotography , @ktp.lens, @m.i.a.catalogue / @ptwentmia, @abish.png, @_memo.capture_ , @framezbymahi and @dnuvisuals.

To @divu_gatherapy and @anusha1211 for keeping our athletes moving, and our first responders for having our backs.

To Iliyan and the team at @newriversportandfitness , and @opalsecurity for keeping us safe.

To Deborah, Kousiha and all other volunteers helping to run the day as smoothly as possible. To @shankeya_ for the content and the mic on the day.

And to every trial and tribulation along the way. Sound restrictions, cancelled events, Arsenal throwing a parade on our doorstep, even the noise online. None of it stopped us. If anything it proved why this movement matters.

SERA is just getting started. This was our debut.

Built by the community, for the community. 🌱

4th February Black day for Tamils
March from Sri Lankan High Commision ➡️ 10 Downing street

On this day, 78 years ago, our people were placed in the hands of the genocidal Sri Lankan state.

Today, Tamils continue to demand our rights, justice and homeland.

The youth led march, organised by TYO UK, to signify the generational loss. We continue to shed light on the horrific genocide that has gone unheard. The struggle will continue from generation to generation until our right to self determination is recognised, until we get Tamileelam‼️

Nush Unwrapped 2025: April, May.

1. Got to film a really fun cover I made with @realmaharani and @itsyaboikay - shoutout to @n_vedaaa for being our incense person haha - I’m so appreciative that I have friends I can create with 🥰🥰

2. Shoutout to @shathu_siva for creating a fun lil band for @legacyxmedia ball! This year, I got to flex my guitar muscles so much more than the others and support other artists as a session guitarist. It’s been really sick to be able to expand on something I’ve been doing for 15 years and add more layers to my playing ✨

3. I’ve mentioned this before but this year, I invested in a lil pre-owned Sony A5000 after doing much research. I’ve always loved film and videography but this year, I’ve realised I LOVE taking event videos and making music and concept videos. It’s been a new passion this year. Super excited to see where that one’s gonna go.

4. @heleenatheodore has been one of my favourite artists for years now. So when she DM’d me, I immediately went screaming to @by.sapna about it on WhatsApp 😂😂😂 fan is an understatement. So being able to dj for her exhibition was a dream come true. What I appreciated about her was she picked me because she’s a fan of my mixes and the way I work.

It’s become so clear to me that my favourite gigs are the ones where clients want me for my pov and choices, not to be a playlist they curated. I just love experimenting! Vibes 😌

5. Speaking of experimenting - being a part of the @getoffthewall_uk @thamarai.uk set in May was SO fun. Being a dj for an organiser like Ara who cares about each act and DJ he puts on is so invaluable. From the jump, it’s been a pleasure working with someone so passionate and eager. I’ve also been going to Thamarai events for years so it’s so full circle that I got to be part of the DJ roster - @dj_mila_x @jansi_schtuffs @alteregogowshi - that shut it DOWN!!!

I also got to debut one of my favourite mixes to date and got to JUMP ABOUT with Tamil dnb fans. I was nervous about dropping it last but it had immense payoff. It SLAPPED. I wanna do a boiler room-esque show this year. Possibly for my birthday 👀 sooo….keep your eyes peeled….

- Nush x
