The build-up was something to be proud of without a doubt. But the actual day of Battle of the Bridge was without a doubt the proudest day of my career with @harbourrugby 🌺

For the first time in my Harbour career, the boss gave me a license to bring in a few extra content creators to help out on game day; the reason being that we had all of the high school boys’ teams playing Finals beforehand.

I was stoked to promote the one-off jersey made by @paladinsports_nz and take a lead in this, while I’m also thrilled to say I was able to attract a crowd of 5500, the biggest Harbour crowd in this entire decade thus far. But the real magic happened on game day thanks to three other creators who helped out.

@chelsea._.photography_ has been a great wingman (or whatever the female version is) all year and she carved up with some alternate-angle photos through the entire day, while her video skills are evolving too. Chelsea is gonna do great things when she finishes uni 💯

It was so good to finally bring @macmmedia into the Harbour environment as well. We’ve worked together on media for @kingdomcityauckland before, while she’s slogged away for so many years promoting club footy that it was about time she got to work on an NPC game. Macy also did a great job helping Chelsea and I with Youth Finals.

Also helping out for her first NPC game was @_millierowe_ who provided a great hand in promoting a sponsorship at half-time and did an amazing job at capturing some crowd energy. Millie’s post-match interview with my guy @cam.howell is a piece of content I’d wanted to do after a game for so long, but have just never quite been able to put together. The way Millie translated her dance content experience over to rugby with such short notice was incredible 🤝

Together, we made 68 posts over TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, attaining 1.83m views, 71.2k post engagements and smashed the market rate engagement rate out of the water; we put ours up to 4.32%; far above the average rate which is around 2.5%.

No viral posts, no team songs, no arrogant posts rubbing it in the face of @aucklandrugby supporters. Just working together as a team and promoting the lads from Harbour.

After getting home for a week, I still can’t put into words how special this trip was. This has always been a dream of mine, and being able to live it and dance with the people I love is something I’ll never forget. The tears, hard work, laughter and memories made it all so worth it.

I’m so grateful for every opportunity and everyone who made this experience so meaningful. Thank you @idco.nz for making this possible 🥹, and to all my friends & the new ones I made — I love y’all for life ❤️❤️

To all the parents who were there for us, we wouldn’t be here without you guys. And thank you @officialhhi for creating something so special and giving me an experience I’ll carry with me forever. Lastly Thankyou to dance. I grew so much from this. Forever greatful❤️
