And then there is just one... First Day School Vibes. Elan starts 7th grade. Esme starts her first year at UF as Sophomore (Ms. Smarty Pants) and Mischa begins her 2nd year at Northeastern in September. Time is just flying but proud as parents.

Today would have been my mom's 94th birthday. But she gets to celebrate it with my dad after 22 years of being apart. This makes me smile. ☺️ Happy Birthday Ma! We love you and miss you. #happybirthdaymom

Somehow this fell through the cracks on my posting. Although this is still a celebration of Esme's time with us before heading to college this Summer. You are loved Esme. #debutante #debutantes

🥰 My last but not the least. I have had this tradition with my girls before they became teenagers to go where ever they wanted with their dad just to spend exclusive time with them. One on one. These are the moments that not only do the older girls tell me that it was the most impactful moment in the lives, but also for me to be completely present for them as they face their challenges in growing up. It has been a ride and loved every moment of it. Love to recreate it again sometime in the future. Thank you Elan for being my daughter. You are absolutely amazing, loving, smart, and kind little girl. Always remember your innocence and why papa loves you always till the end of time. #girldad #fatherdaughterlove #fatherdaughtertime #fatherdaughter #horse

❤️The proudest moment as a girl dad is to see these milestone moments of our girls embarking on a new story that has yet to be written. Every time I make these videos, I can help smiling about all the memories that have let up to this moment. We are so incredibly proud of you Esme. You go out there and make the life you want. One step closer! You got this! Congratulations! 👊🍾😘❤️

These past few days we got a chance to visit my oldest in Boston to celebrate Easter holiday with the family. All the while, it is apropos following the passing of my mother. I found Easter to be profound hope, renewal, and the promise of eternal life for those grieving loved ones, reinforcing that death is not the final end but a transition to new life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It gives me comfort by affirming that love is stronger than death and peace in that we will reunite in heaven. #easter #heisrisen #catholic #lifeafterdeath

😢 It has been a long journey for the past few days as we laid my mother to rest this past Friday afternoon under the shade of old friendly craggy oak tree next to my father. The sun was shining gleefully peeking rays of warmth onto to those who loved her so deeply and profoundly. They say that soul truly never dies but rather embraced in the hearts to whom they have touched. During her funeral services, I had the opportunity to speak upon the request of my brothers. Eulogies were never meant for the departed, so it was a reflection for my brothers and her grandchildren. There was sadness and joy and even lightheartedness. The one thing I wanted to get across was the gratitude that we were all gathered in the moment to celebrate my mom's life and our own Vietnamese language and culture. It had been such a hard few days that has left my heart shattered that I will never hear her voice again saying "Ma Thuong Con." which can mean "I love you" in Vietnamese. Our Vietnamese heritage prides ourselves deeply into our family. When a mother (Ma) or father (Ba) says "Ma or Ba Thuong Con", it really means "I sacrifice for you because you are my everything. I do all that I do so that you can have or be more." We have a rich poetic culture that connects the heart to those we love. We see you Ma. We know that we may not have been always perfect but in your eyes we were. As a parent, I see that too. Thank you for being my mom. You are loved. ❤️ #RIPMom #MomInHeaven #MissingMyMom #LossOfAMother #Grieving
