Today September 30 is truth and reconciliation day. Today we take the day to recognize those who have been victims of residential schools and a reminder that every child matters 🧡

Today, WE wear orange 🧡

Orange Shirt Day is a reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and that they belong. We honour the survivors, families, and communities affected by the residential school systems. Education is not only about learning from the past but, it’s about helping shape a future rooted in understanding, respect, and reconciliation.

Every child matters.🧡

Today we wear orange to honour the children, families, and communities impacted by residential schools and to recognize that Every Child Matters. 🧡

Orange Shirt Day is a time to remember, reflect, learn, and have meaningful conversations about the importance of kindness, respect, inclusion, and understanding. Today and every day, we can continue learning from the past and work together to create a future where every child feels valued, heard, and supported.

I had such a fun time attending the @lakeview_montessori Pasta Fundraiser this past Friday! I got to spend the evening helping the kids create their own charm bracelets and loved seeing all of their creativity come to life. Such a fun night supporting an amazing school community!🤍
Thank you @jillianparent for the opportunity to come out!

With the interviews completing yesterday, I am so incredibly proud of these young women and the amazing steps they have taken in less than a months preparation for the Miss Teen Afribbean Windsor Pageant. They’ve all stepped out of their comfort zone to try something new and I could not be more proud of them. And thank you to our incredible judges not only for conducting the interviews, but each giving words of wisdom and encouragement.

and a big thank you to black kids in action @bkia.inc for allowing us to use their youth program room to hold interviews.

Today I had the honour of judging the @missteenafribbeanwindsor interviews! The delegates had the opportunity to share their experience, culture, and voices with each of us judges! I am so eager to see which of these beautiful ladies will represent the African and Caribbean communities here in Windsor-Essex!👑

Huge thank you to @macrofoods for the incredible and delicious lunch! 🥗 🍽️
