🌅 sunsets n' sends 🧗

being back in San Diego has been a bit of a mixed bag the last two months. For starters, selling our apartment has been super stressful and we've battled 3 ungodly heat waves, but then we go to the beach or we hang with friends and it's all good again.

regardless, the climbing gym has been a welcome refuge in these troubling times and I'm proud to announce that I can now lead climb a 5.10d and can top rope 5.11d 👀 perhaps pressure does make diamonds?!?... lol or at least, it forces you to flee to the only place that makes you forget the stress 😅

Denver! Sometimes we venture into the big city, but whenever we do, we're sure to drag our friends out to some crag to go climbing 🧗💕

Yes, and by that I mean, the Grand Tetons 😜

💛Yellowstone💛

I know everyone says it, but I'm bloooown away by this national park 🌋🦬 Not only is it colossal, but it's diverse, it's unique, and there are bison literally everywhere! And it turns out, the van deck is the best place to observe a herd of bison in rut 🫪
.
.
But if you wanna see one of the coolest moments caught through the lens of my binoculars, we saw a wolf 🐺 which is absolutely a highlight of the trip. ✨ Don't be too dazzled by my amazing wildlife photography ✨

We love a good, reliable routine, so changing locations every day has only been mentally possible because there's always one thing we can count on: each other.
.
When you wake up with a different view in your window every morning, you don't know what you're doing in two weeks, and you have to anticipate van-related mishaps, having at least one reliable thing in your life is really nice, esp if that's your hottest homie.

it's a mellow approach, don't worry 👀
.
.
Okay but is it actually ever a "chill" approach? Sometimes you score with an easy 15 minute walk to the crag and other times you scramble down a cliff, hike an hour, get lost, and cross a river to get to the wall. Half the fun is the adventure, right?

✨the hike that almost didn't happen turned out to be the best hike we've ever done ✨
.
Glacier NP is FAR. Not just from San Diego, but from literally everything. It takes hours to get to the park from the nearest town, the reserve itself is colossal, and it's just really gnarly and remote, which is why we nearly bailed on it—but I'm so glad we pushed instead.
.
.
If you're ever brave enough to go, you will most certainly score. This hike was Grimmell Glacier Trail, a cheeky 11 miler with 2000ft of gain and 110% payoff at every turn.

Lake Louise is as picturesque and outrageously fake-looking as you'd imagine. I always thought those pictures of a milky blue lake were always edited to look like celestial paintings, but it turns out, that's just what this shiz looks like in real life. AND on top of that, there's some dank climbs right behind the lake 👀

🇨🇦 after two weeks, and despite our best efforts, we did not see a single beaver or moose in Canada 🥀 I guess ancient mega glaciers, beautiful peaks, and whimsical waterfalls will have to suffice.
