Myself Madhavi palla , 54 years young
working as a biology lecturer since 31 years and also a NEET faculty worked in different cities
I am basically from Hyderabad and came to Mangalore on my husband’s transfer in 2013 and joined the famous Expert pu college. And currently working in the same college and will work till the retirement.

On one fine Sunday 15th December 2024, one of my student who is a doctor called me and asked as how am I keeping my health, what is my lifestyle other than teaching.
He suggested me to join any walkers/ runners club and advised me that it is essential for me to maintain bone, muscle and joints health as I was already 52. That conversation with him made me realise to keep moving for musculo-skeletal and cardio health. I have googled in no time immediately.
I found this vibrant Mangalore runners club and paid for annual registration. Next I was absorbed into the WhatsApp group of MRC. From then till date I am active in the group as some of you know this. My first run with @mangalore.runners was on 22nd December 2024. Next day i suffered aches in all joints and muscles of the body. As it was my first ever run in life 2 weeks of rest was advised by my orthopedist.

People suggested me to give up. I was not ready to give up.
A relaxed trip to Dubai with family made me to think about running peacefully. Many foreigners who were tourists in Dubai were actively running and I decided I should also continue.

On 26th January 2025, @mangalore.runners conducted a promo run for that year Manipal marathon along with KMC. I ran 5 Km in 45 minutes without any pain. From then i didn’t step . In 3 months I started running 10km. My first official 10k race is TCS 10k in 1 hour 33 minutes. This increased my confidence. From then on i participated many races and few virtual races too. I got a podium in ‘ Bale balipuga’ puttur run 2025 in my age category. Many a times I go till 4th place in races.
