๐Ÿฉท VALBORG COLLAB ๐Ÿ’œ Valborg (Walpurgis Night) is a traditional Swedish spring festival celebrated on April 30th to welcome spring, with huge public bonfires (majbrasar), choral singing and social gatherings. Saltatio Walpurgis Noctis | ๐Ÿฉท VALBORG COLLAB ๐Ÿ’œ Walpurgisnacht, or the night of the witches is a celebration of Saint Walpurga, hailed by Christians for battling plague and witchcraft. Walpurgisnacht is also the cognomen of a witch, one powerful enough to destroy whole cities without the cover of labyrinths. This witch, who dances endlessly as a โ€œfoolโ€, represents the cruel irony of a magical girlโ€™s fate: girls fight witchcraft like Saint Walpurga, but only burn up their energy against witchcraft, a sacrifice for entropy. Knowing the truth, the collective fate of magical girls, is twisted into something Sisyphian. The girlsโ€™ battles become meaningless, an absurd mass slaughter of their own peers. This artwork is a call for us to find joy in the absurd and meaningless. Iโ€™ve reimagined Henri Matisseโ€™s The Dance in the context of the magical girlsโ€™ Walpurgis Night. While the girls dance on the gears of sufferingโ€”the symbolic representation of every magical girlโ€™s despairโ€”a passionate, joyful revolt unifies the conflict between humanityโ€™s desires for meaning and the worldโ€™s lack thereof. Through rebellion, the girls will be free from their fate, finding happiness and freedom in the struggle itselfโ€”against witches, against despair, against the entire cosmic system. This is also an entry to @artbot404 's #artbotcontest ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™ A collab that's part of Kiki & Cat's Kawaii Drawing Club Choice of theme by Kiki & Cat Description template by Kiki - @kristinakerblom Collage pictures by Cat - @childishcat_x Organized by Kiki & Cat The kawaii friends in the collab: ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฉท Kiki - @kristinakerblom ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’œ Cat - @childishcat_x ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’œ Moonie - @moonie_drawz ๐Ÿน๐ŸคŽ Ira - @kiki.and.ira ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฉท Ruby - @_winteruby_ ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ’š Hedgie - @art.by.hedgie ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฉท Cindy - @cindy.celestar ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’œ Allifi - @al_li_fi ๐Ÿน๐Ÿ’™ Bee - @bumbumbee.art ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’™ Bella - @somecutedodos ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ’œ Fox - @_mr.drawingfox ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฉท Ninchy - @dularnina7 ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’š Xin Rung - @megantanxr12 ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ’œ Nihorin - @nihorin ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’œ Kurt - @conrados.arts ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’™ Dani - @dlogan572 ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ’œ Pequod - @pequod_the_sleek ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฉท Linnie - @creamylinnie ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿงก Jazz - @coz_yart #kikiandcatskawaiidrawingclub #kikiandcat #kawaiidrawingclub #kawaiifriends
