POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

today, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, i was moved by so many moments — stories of sacrifice, bravery, and courage. those include the recollections of one survivor, who was rescued from the rubble 27 hours after the towers fell, and a firefighter who ran into the smoke and heat to save people he’d never even met. truly unbelievable stories that take your breath away.

even having only spent one year living in the city, the heart of nyc and its people stay with me — always — and with all those families who’s lives were changed for generations on this tragic day.

hug your people extra tight today🤍

Great weekend with @ut.clubfootball. Truly could not be happier with how much these players have grown as individuals and as an organization while I have been their Coach.

This one I’m really proud of!

Earlier this month I was awarded an Emmy Award from the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. It’s the same award you see actors getting for their work except this one is for local news.

The award was in the “Weather Craft” category. It’s the category I’ve been eyeing for a while.

It’s not for a single story, event or weathercast but rather for the totality of my work. I put a lot of effort into my work & I’m really happy that this effort has been recognized this year.
This job not only takes a lot of work, typically on-the-fly, but the schedule is a huge hurdle as well. The 2am alarms almost always mean I never get enough sleep. The added number of weather updates during the morning show typically means preparing for a “stand out” weather segment requires work outside of actual work hours.

Thank you everyone for supporting me by following me here or watching me on Good Morning Tampa Bay. I always strive to keep the level of my work as high as possible to make sure you’re getting the best weather information both on sunny days & those rare ones when the weather really makes us pay attention.

BTW, while photographer @_mr_richards & I were taking these pics, someone sneaked into the shot & I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the opportunity to take a photo with her.

Swipe to see the result!

WHO IS SHE?

First time ever golfing, thanks to…

Eugene, our station’s “golf commissioner” for assuring me that was not a barrier to playing in the annual ABC Action News golf tournament he expertly organizes!

Randy, who suggested we form an I-Team golf team!

Melanie, for guiding me every step of the way and making sure I showed up looking the part! “Are these shorts long enough?” “What shoes do I wear?” “Oh right, I’m going to need lefty clubs.” “Oh, I have to call ahead of time?” “We have to bring our own golf balls?” “Tees?”

My enthusiastic dad, who came over to Tampa the night before when I, in a panic, asked if we could practice putting and go out to the driving range. And wouldn’t let me change my mind and back out!

The guys at Rocky Point Golf Course, who got me all set up and helped calm my palpable nerves!

My teammates Randy, Adam and Matt, who were so positive and encouraging and made the experience what it was - so much fun!
