Another Team putting in hard work with us this weekend! Coach Stratis works with the entire WIKF Texas team (the Karate competition team from @planodojo & @mckinneydojo ) from the start of their season in January through the National Championships in July to help them progressively prepare to peak and perform at their most important competitions.
.
While some foundational athletic skills & attributes are universal across sports, there are absolutely demands that are unique to each sport. In Karate competition these athletes must be able to be explosive and fast, control their speed with rapid deceleration and change of direction, and be able to repeatedly demonstrate that speed with minimal recovery time between efforts throughout the duration of each bout. As with all of our training programs, the plan for this Karate team is designed to specifically equip the athletes to perform at their best in competition and outperform their opponents! This particular session took place out at the track, while others are conducted indoors where their train at the dojo.
.
We are only about one month into this season and already we are seeing improvements with these athletes. Can’t wait to help them develop and see them perform as we get deeper into the season together!
