It’s International Chef’s Day. Who knew that was a thing? 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️👩🏽‍🍳👩🏽‍🍳👩🏽‍🍳👩🏽‍🍳•
•
Throwing this out there for all of my fellow kitchen warriors - this life is not easy by any means but I definitely wouldn’t choose to do anything else. There’s no other place I find comfort, joy, madness, creativity, and enjoyable chaos than in the kitchen. 👩🏽‍🍳⏲🔪🍱🥗🍛•
•
And the best part about it? Sharing the outcomes with everyone - from those creating with me to the mouths (big and small) that we feed. It’s pretty fucking dope. 🙏🏽🥰✨•

Today I am thankful for so many things •

•I am incredibly thankful to the team that has allowed me to keep going because without them - none of this would be possible. For 72 hours - they came together and prepared over 200 individual meals and sides to ensure our clients would enjoy a memorable and delicious Thanksgiving this year. They show up - day in and day out - and are always up for the challenge (even when they know the challenge is going to be a crazy one)
•I am thankful to my patient, loving, coffee drinking, taste testing, dog walking husband who has made sure that I am able to pursue each one of my dreams and stands by me every step of the way - even when it’s hard and the days are long. I couldn’t ask for a better partner and doggy daddy.
•Most of all - I am thankful to the community that has supported me since the first pop up taco stand and meal prep service began almost three years ago. Since then, the business has grown and all of you still continue to lift myself and my team up. You’ve kept us going since day one - but especially through these last 9 months and counting. Thank you for the notes of encouragement, the check ins, the visits, the surprises, and the continued support. Without all of you - this little chef couldn’t exist. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

On Friday March 13, 2020 the senior students of New York City’s Food and Finance High School got their senior sweaters. Part of the graduation traditions, they were scheduled to take their class photo on Monday. Before that could happen, NY announced all public schools closing on Monday, in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Instead of gathering together for a commemorative picture, the school’s students, staff and supporters, sprang into action to put together food resources and fundraisers for student families. On episode 209 of Tech Bites, host @mmesnack talks with @emloehr - Executive Director @foodeducationfund, Kat Taveras - Program Manager and @riversniyah - FFHS Senior, about the virtual ending to the school year, and celebrating graduation from afar. .
