Although our “thank you’s” have been said, we’d like to reiterate how blessed and grateful we are for our village standing behind us.
Thank you to our Lataki parents & their tokoni’s, our families, Tauhi, Pulengaue and komunio for everything they had done to make this trip possible.
A HUGE thank you to our punake, Tu’uhoko ki Langi for the constant support, patience, encouragement & wisdom that it took to create & teach us our Lakalaka for this trip.
There aren’t enough words to express our thanks. ‘Ofa lahi atu💚 #SaltLakeLataki

I was watching a union vote when I stepped away to watch my dad’s baby sister, my Aunt Leni, graduate to receive an executive MBA at the University of Utah. And even better, she was a ceremony speaker.

I was raised by the greatest organizers. My dad, who kinda acted like I do: free spirited, decisive on decisions that we don’t personally benefit from for the family, whose solidarity was never transactional. My Aunt Lini, whose leadership was second to none. And my Aunt Leni, fiscally responsible, articulate, and an orator of family history and customs. I took most of his lessons and implemented my aunt’s lessons. And a whole movement benefits from the teachings I seen at our family homes. You were right the last time we visited, Leni. We’re all tired of mourning, let’s start celebrating!

Congratulations, Loren Manu Tonga. Your nephew is proud of you!
