Exactly this time a month ago, I was at the best shower of my lifeeeeeee😭😭. I did not see it coming at allllll. I was so occupied in my thoughts. I had received alooot of bad news that week. I was just pushing through tbh. See how tired I looked☹️

To think I was looking for that particular shoe I was wearing there🫠. I had packed my bags for the hotel and my friends @omaikeyi and @allurebyapril were supposed to go to the hotel with me. But I couldn’t find my shoe. I didn’t need the shoe for the wedding though but I couldn’t leave without knowing where it was😭. I didn’t know my sister took it for the surprise shower. They then suggested that I call my sister to ask her if she had seen it🤣🤣

I remember having a conversation with @kamilla_headgirl last year about my bridal shower. The first and only time we spoke of it. I told her that if they ever planned one, I wanted a Barney and Ankara themed shower. I wanted them to wear a customised Barney T shirt with Ankara shorts then I’ll wear the Barney dinasour costume🤣. I went on and on about this ridiculous shower😭. I’m just glad they took just the colours of Barney and the Ankara part🥰. They told me that they wanted to change the theme when Priscy Ojo had the same theme😂.

Anyway, to my 15 girls that pulled this off SEAMLESSLY, I LOVE YOU and THANK YOU!!!!!🤧😭. To my sisters @okaformay @nanya.valencia, YOU ARE THE BESTESTEST and I’m so blessed to have you!

I grew up watching my mum and her besties Aunty Oby Nwankwo (of blessed memory), Aunty Iruka Nwokedi, Aunty Franca Offor and others, shattering glass ceilings in the course of women and children's rights and advocacy. They fought tooth and nail to ensure that suppressive practices such as Female Genital Mutilation, Cultural widowhood practices etc against women and children were abolished in various parts of Nigeria. It's therefore not surprising, that I turned out to be a Human Rights Enthusiast who is very passionate about Human Rights advocacy with focus on promoting gender balance.

On May 6, 2023 (my birthday), I shared my dream of creating a safe space for women to "chill" and "share" with some of my besties @hauwahabibu, @dorachuma and @yugilicious , and as usual they said "Ride on sis, we are solidly behind you"!

Chill and Share, a quarterly event, was birthed and has been an amazing experience of unwinding and learning for all who have been privileged to attend. It has been a safe space of sharing, teaching and learning about self improvement, parenting, financing, intimacy and so much more.

As the dream turns one in a few weeks, we would be celebrating our first anniversary and International Women's Day symposium scheduled to hold on the 4th of May, 2024. The theme for the symposium is "Inspiring Inclusion: A Holistic Approach" and it is aimed at inspiring women to become better versions of themselves, serve as advocates for other women and nurture a gender balanced future generation.

I had a very stressful and annoying day, coming back home all I wanted to do was lie down and cry because no celebration was done. On entering the house, I saw my birthday cake that my sister made looking so beautiful 😍❤️ , surprisingly my friends were also in the house waiting for me for hours I was really surprised they came because I didn't except it.💞 Anyway it was a pleasant ending.
