Behind the scenes on bringing pets into the story — they’re like children, unpredictable and full of heart. You might only have seconds to capture the moment, so when it comes, you take it. If someone’s getting the dog’s attention, have them right beside you so those eyes lock perfectly with the lens. Keep your settings dialed in, stay patient, and let the emotion and love unfold naturally in front of you. And always keep an eye out for the little details — sometimes they tell the story just as much as the big moments.

“My dream wouldn’t be complete without you in it.” – The Princess and the Frog

From the quiet grace of the Church of the Assumption, where light spilled through cathedral walls, to the oceanfront ceremony at Anthony’s Ocean View, Kait and Paul’s day felt like something out of a dream. Their first look at Edgerton, wrapped in autumn’s color and golden sun, set the tone for a celebration that flowed effortlessly from laughter to love, ending beneath a sky of fireworks.
Kait’s two stunning gowns told the story of the day — one elegant and timeless for the intimate church setting, and the other made for celebration under the stars. And through it all was Nola, their sweet pup, bringing warmth and joy to everyone she met.
I couldn’t be more honored to share a glimpse into this unforgettable day and the beautiful story of two souls perfectly in sync.

The bane of our existence.....

Mom and I have both been ill for the past two weeks. We apologize as we have missed birthdays and events and interacting with all our friends. Mom has been battling migraines plus a kidney infection and high fever. I started limping and have two paws that are infected.

The good news is we both have been started on antibiotics and other medicines and are starting to feel better. Still sick but slowly getting better. We hope by this weekend we will be caught up with our dms and interacting with everyone again plus feeling better.

Belated birthdays

Back in October, I launched our first Pet Portrait Series: Halloween Costumes. It took me a while to make it through all the sketches but I finally did it, and I’m so happy with how these came out. Drawing dogs in costumes is one of my favorite things to do, so this was the perfect prompt to kick off the series. Here’s part 1 of our Halloween Pet Portrait sketches. What do you think? Should I do this again? What should our next theme be? 😍 PS - thank you to everyone who was so patient with me with these. I ended up spending more time on each than I originally planned. This was definitely a huge learning experience, and in the end, I hope they were worth the wait! 🧡🖤

Hallo Gremlins 👻.
Ohje, Mutti hat es voll erwischt. Influenza komplett 🫣.

Dünenhund Gyzmo 🤪🇩🇰, Mutti 💁🏻‍♀️ und Vaddern 🙋🏻‍♂️ over and out.

Hallo Gremlins 👻.
In unserem Dorf war einfach alles still 💤. Keine Autos, ein wenig Nebel, ein paar Vögelchen 🐦. Sehr entspannt.

Frühaufsteher Gyzmo 🕖🇩🇰, Mutti 💁🏻‍♀️ und Vaddern 🙋🏻‍♂️ over and out.
