Just wrapped up another day homeschooling my favorite high schoolers. Years ago when Kylie first asked to be homeschooled, I immediately said no. Hard pass. I wasn’t confident, I wasn’t sure I was educated enough. I couldn’t even imagine it. But now I know that’s because of my own public school experience influencing me to think that way. As time progressed, the call to homeschool became a necessity and I knew I had to just figure it out. And I did. We did. It was one hell of a learning curve, but we rode it out together. If someone would have told me back then that today I’d be teaching 3 amazing freshman about science and government overreach with communism in the Chinese cultural revolution, I would have died laughing. Absolutely not. Now?? Now… It feels like I was born for this. Watching them get fascinated with learning the parallels to our country today and exciting about what science nerd stuff we’re going to experiment about is priceless. I can’t even explain the privilege it is to have a front row seat to this chapter in their lives ❤️
