🔥 THE HOT SEAT 🔥

My artist The Bars Kid headlined DA FLOW: Poetry & Music in Columbus, OH and BABYYYY… he showed OUT!

If you know Bars, you know the HOT SEAT is always a moment. Things get a little grown, a little sexy, a little uncomfortable 😂… but ALWAYS entertaining.

And honestly? This might be my favorite Hot Seat performance yet. I’m curious though… 👀 PEEP THE RECAP then drop your rating in the comments: 1–10… DID THE BARS KID GO CRAZY OR NAHHHH?!

I already know where I’m rating it. 😮‍💨

Rhythm & Reflection (Volume 4) is more than a show… it’s an EXPERIENCE. ✨

We don’t just come together to listen — we come together to connect.

When you walk through the doors, you receive a card with a question and a number. Throughout the night, I call a number… and whoever has that number gets the floor. 🎤

Read the question. Share your answer. Tell your story.

Then we open it up.

Because sometimes the most powerful part of an event isn’t what happens on stage… it’s the conversations happening between us.

Different perspectives. Different experiences. Different voices — all in one room.

This is Rhythm & Reflection.
Where we share the rhythm… and reflect on the real. 🖤

Volume 4 — September 26th
Come ready to listen. Come ready to speak.
Most importantly… come ready to connect.

Some flashbacks from April’s open mic night, a full house of love, processing, and fun through poetry & music. Part One....

Had some first-time performances by Richard Armande reading from his love book dedicated to his wife. Aya The Dreamer pulling out the poetry book for the first time in awhile, thank you for making us your return home! Fellow Muse event hosts Tyson expressing himself not with music sounds, but words. Nick Issacs performing a heartfelt song of a past lover over 808’s. A musical moment from blasiann.ryy showing bars of them trap melodies. And Brennan Blackwell was prompted to perform his first ever poem on our stage! A poetry month highlight if ya digg! + Maxwell Solway performed for the first time his comedy to add to the levity on at times heavy evening.

As we held a moment of silence for Smiley the Poet who died by suicide, which was ironically the only VERSES & VIIBES event Mary Reid didn’t attend, who would later as well pass away. Providing the foundation for Erin and Nanci Mays to express grief of whom they’ve lost or struggled to get through. It was also a farewell performance by our own Queen J, who now currently resides in Columbus due to life changes, showing us into her world being reframed in real-time via poetic freestyle.

In turn, it was also the return of missed poet Jay Bee, whose profoundness never left. As well as @thou_art_dope making a comeback with a new piece AND love piece to our favorite fitness dancer, Love Jackson, who came through and let us know what new events she has coming this summer!

We had new pieces from family and veterans from Spoken Poetically, Webslyngr, Unknown Truthzz, NOC Giant, @kenny.iii (performing dope poetry for the first time), Jamyah Mays, and Yahawashi! All of which had their inherent uniqueness light up the place only they can. I’m truly grateful for all of you for making this one of my favorite places to be each month. I, SoL, even came through with a new song that was one of my best performances of by far! And our hostess the mostess came through with the flow water with a new song! I’m ready for the celebration of Harmony on Wednesday, I hope you are too!
