August: Osage County
An incredible, terrifying and a behemoth of a process that taught me innumerable things about myself, my craft, and (perhaps most importantly) not to take copious amounts of drugs. I feel unbelievably lucky to have been part of this production. And to have had the honour of playing Violet Weston - she’s a complicated, hilarious and deeply human woman, and getting to spend these months with her has been an absolute privilege.
So incredibly grateful to the phenomenal Ngọc Phan, who guided us through this complex, brutal and brilliant play with so much care, and to Aaron Jeffries for holding us all together with electrical tape.
My last play at uni with these amazing people will stay with me for a very, very long time. I love you all so much, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we made together. It’s incredibly bittersweet knowing that this show brings us one step closer to graduation.
“Life is very long…”
…but this went by in the blink of an eye🧡

Barbara Fordham in August: Osage County. What an absolute roller coaster!
It is bittersweet to close the final play of our degree but I couldn’t have picked a better play to perform with a better group of people. This role and this show is one of the most challenging and the most rewarding experience of my life. Under Ngọc Phan’s direction we all learned how to not only be better actors, but better people; and I will hold that with me forever. I am so grateful for my cohort for tackling this enormous play with such generosity and care, I cannot wait to enter the industry with you all <3

“August: Osage County”, the final play of my degree and an experience I will never forget. I feel so lucky to have been able to play Jean, who taught me so much about acting and who I wish I could adopt and send to therapy. I will never ever get over how lucky we were to be directed by Ngọc Phan who taught me more life and theatre lessons than I can count, and who guided us through Tracy Lett’s complex and incredible work with sensitivity and grace. Finally, I am so sad to close this chapter with my class of 2026, bringing us one step closer to our departure from our course, but I can’t wait to see everyone soar as they take on the industry.
