Hay bodas bonitas, y hay bodas que se sienten especiales en cada detalle.

Una de esas que disfrutas crear tanto como verlas hechas realidad.

Gracias por confiar en mí para ser parte de un día tan bonito.

triste pero bien c*brona…

one month ago, i lost my little sister.

that day i briefly posted a Story about it before taking it down as i realized i’d lost sight of the line that should exist between my private life and my public life. i then closed all social media for 2 weeks (prob the longest i haven’t used it since i opened it 15 years ago).

no one knows what i went through in those 2 weeks. no one saw how much i cried, screamed, punched pillows… how black became the staple of my wardrobe because my soul felt no desire to wear color… how heavy my heart was… how deep my grief felt, and still does, and always will.

yet some people have dared to judge me for putting on a good face ever since i came back online.

what i have to say to that is this: there is no handbook on how to properly grieve, much less one on how to grieve as an influencer. when your livelihood depends on posting online but you’re dying on the inside, just like how a regular person would have to eventually return to the office and hold it together, i’ve had to return to my socials and show a version of myself that isn’t necessarily fake but also doesn’t paint the full picture.

i’ve been working back to back concerts at a fair in Mexico and have, of course, found moments of joy, because if there’s anything that’s always been able to heal me, it’s music. i’ve gotten to meet incredible people, sing, dance, laugh, be creative, distract myself from the pain… but i’ve also gotten to my hotel room afterwards and completely broken down. i’ve suffered from the most severe back pain i’ve ever felt from carrying so much weight, physically and emotionally.

this isn’t a pity party. this also isn’t a “don’t believe everything you see online” sermon, because when it comes to MY posts, what i portray is always authentic. this is just a gentle reminder that all you see on here is the tip of the iceberg, so don’t be too quick to judge when you don’t know what’s underneath.

be prudent. be respectful. and above all, be kind.

much love,
Ale
