Read two poems this past weekend at Elizabeth Street Garden x McNally Jackson’s poetry reading on the theme of vision.

John Berger opens his essays in Ways of Seeing with “Seeing comes before words…the relation between what we see and what we know is never settled.” I am endlessly fed by ideas of perception. Our creation of and relationship to images. The blind spot in our retina that we seamlessly fill in.

Felt extra special to be inside a garden where I’ve spent countless hours looking, reading, and writing.

Last year with Caroline & JP aboard the Mariner III ⚓️ It was truly one of the greatest honors of my career to capture my friend of 13 years and the love of her life on their maiden voyage as husband and wife. The dreamiest day featuring stunning florals by @botanique.nyc, a classic 3 tiered cake by @_lauren_schofield, an impeccable soundtrack by @danniswinston, a sunset cameo by Ms. Lady Liberty herself, and late night fireworks over the Hudson River.

Hallie and Jonathan went to the same summer camp as kids and magically met again at a bar in the city a month before lockdown. For their wedding, they chose the Stissing House, where the olden days live in a quiet town upstate called Pine Plains. Their friends and family flew in from all over the world to watch them wed and dine and dance till the break of dawn.
